A rare variant morphology of maxillary premolar has three separate roots with three root canals. The aim of this article is to report diagnosis and endodontic treatment of a maxillary first premolar with three roots and canals using reciprocating rotary instrumentation technique completed in single sitting. This paper also reports the presence of an associated three rooted second premolar in the same patient.

Microsurgical techniques produce predictable outcomes in the healing of endodontic lesions by using state-ofthe-art technology, devices, and materials that harmonize with biological concepts. In this review article, we have elaborated the current concepts, techniques, microscope, flap design, newer materials and prognosis of microsurgery.

We report successful management of a case of Severe Hemophilia A with buccal space infection based on protocol designed by Ansari MK, et al. [1] for managing space infection in Hemophilia patient.

While excellent aesthetics are possible with indirect restorations, there may be unnecessary tooth structure removed in order to achieve the desired results. This may affect the long term success of the restoration, when dealing with younger patients. Whenever possible, tooth material augmentation versus tooth material amputation allows for a more conservative treatment option. Many innovative therapies have been used, varying from restorative procedures to surgery (frenectomies) and orthodontics. The size of the diastema is an important determinant when selecting the mode of treatment as well as the material for correction. When a larger space closure is needed, orthodontics may be indicated to allow for a more aesthetic outcome. When a small diastema with teeth in proper orthodontic alignment, no preparation of the tooth structure is necessary and direct c...

Their complex anatomy makes chemomechanical preparation an arduous and difficult task. The present case series describes the endodontic management of 3 cases of C-shaped canals using sonic irrigation system and laser assisted disinfection.

Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional, questionnaire-based survey was carried out among undergraduate, interns and postgraduate dental students in an institutional dental hospital in India. The students were required to fill a self-administered questionnaire with close ended questions with responses indicated by a simple tick box format. The questionnaire was divided into three sections intended to collect information on (1) sociodemographic characteristics, (2) knowledge, and (3) practice habits toward needlestick injury (NSI) and PEP of the respondents. Results: An adequate score (>70% correct response) to knowledge about NSI and PEP was obtained by 60.2% (50/83) of the respondents, while 47% (39/83) of the student participants obtained an adequate score (>7...

Materials and Methods: Data on odontogenic jaw cysts treated between 2009 and 2018 were retrieved from clinical files; imaging and histopathology reports and a total of 847 patients were included. In each case, we analyzed age, gender, type and number of cysts, and cyst location. Imaging characteristics and pathologies associated with cystic lesions were also determined. Results: Diagnosis of odontogenic cyst was made in 847 cases and accounted for 10.9% of all lesions biopsied (7748) throughout the period. Mean age of the patient was 28.2 years, ...

The complexity of endodontic treatment of hypertaurodont tooth may be compounded by coexistent C-shaped canal anatomy. A 26-year-old patient reported with spontaneous and lingering pain due to a deep carious lesion in the right mandibular second molar. Clinical and radiographic examinations were done. A diagnosis of symptomatic irreversible pulpitis with symptomatic apical periodontitis in a hypertaurodont with an associated C-shaped canal configuration was made. The cone-beam computed tomography image guide together with microscopic magnification was utilized to negotiate, clean, and shape the root canal system. The isthmus of the C-shaped canal was prepared with ultrasonic tips, while Endoactivator sonic irrigant activation was employed for effectively disinfecting of the uninstrumentable intercommunications, apical splits, and ramification...

ICR is multifactorial in origin and has various predisposing factors such as orthodontic treatment, trauma, and internal bleaching. Thus, a multidisciplinary approach comprising of surgical repair with root canal treatment is required for its successful treatment outcome.

It offers a simple and conservative technique to restore esthetics and function. Reattachment of a completely disjointed crown may need additional fiber post retention due to the greater functional load borne by the fragment. This article reports two cases of complicated crown root fracture managed by utilizing fiber post to reattach the disjointed crown fragment. The reattached fragment has shown reliable retentivity and periodontal health at 1-year follow-up.
