Biomechanical modeling with the help of analytical mechanics together with the application of ded... more Biomechanical modeling with the help of analytical mechanics together with the application of dedicated IT resources and mechanical simulations lead to a higher accuracy of the biomechanical model. From an analytical point of view, this article develops the equation of motion of the human head in a biomechanical system with three degrees of freedom using the Lagrange equations of the second case. It has been considered that this biomechanical subsystem consists of 3 anatomical elements: the head, the cervical region and the rest of the spine (considered as being a single element consisting of the thoracic region, lumbar region, sacral region and coccygeal region). The forces which stress the head and spine during normal movements or when activities in the workplace are performed make biomechanical modeling different. Therefore, the movement of the subsystem was analyzed in the sagittal plane taking into consideration joints of cylindroid type, and the subsystem as a triple inverted pendulum. The main purpose of this model was to obtain the differential equations of motion of the mechanical subsystem considered to be in the matrix-analytical form.

The human resource has an important role both at the scale of society as a whole and in every org... more The human resource has an important role both at the scale of society as a whole and in every organization. The key to success in ensuring the competitiveness of the organization in a competitive market is to organize and manage staff so as to enable the creative potential of the human resource to be maximized. Due to the large number of universities in Romania (over 100) and in the field of higher education there is competition, so we can talk about the competitive market. The diversity of the student and teacher profile, the effect of technologies and the globalization of the economy influence the provision of educational services offered by universities. Teachers' structure is important because it provides information on the career development of the human resource. In this paper, the authors propose to analyze and anticipate the dynamic of the structure of the teaching staff employed in a composite university. The data are obtained from the university's own database and statistically processed. According to the results, dynamic teaching staff employed in such an university, shows different trends depending on the faculty profile.

The application provides a visualization instrument for the shapes of the connecting rod curve and controls for all the constructive parameters. The students are able to visualize dynamically the changes in positions, velocities, and trajectories while they act on control buttons.

A good coordination of the driver's action on the controls is the result of a comfortable position that leads to an optimal reaction while driving. The presented study implies using a thermal imaging camera for analysing palms temperature changes in the contact area with the steering wheel. The resulting data shows that the optimal driving position of drivers' hands is 0° and 180° associating the steering wheel with and trigonometric circle.

The paper presents the statistical analysis of the quality of international students' learning en... more The paper presents the statistical analysis of the quality of international students' learning environment based on a questionnaire that includes several issues related to the quality of educational process. Thus, besides the general information on the respondents, the following issues are analyzed: the quality of teaching, the quality of students' services and facilities, and the quality management system. All these issues are according to Romanian regulations and the national methodology for quality assurance in higher education. The results are important for improving the teaching environment, because according to them, the university management will plan its future actions, in order to increase the number of international students. This analysis is also important due to the fact that the teaching language for these students is not their native one and the courses and seminars are held abroad, not at the university administrative center. Based on this study, a connection can be made between the quality of educational services offered abroad and the students' satisfaction. This will be the starting point in developing new strategies, if necessary.

One of the serious problems faced by the educational system in contemporary society is the early leaving of school. A person who drops out of studies will not have the professional qualification required to integrate into the national or international economic market, eventually becoming the future unemployed worker. While in the EU the general tendency is decreasing, in Romania, school abandonment is increasing both at pre-university and university level. In this paper, the authors propose to analyze the possible causes and to correlate them with the evolution of the school abandonment registered in a composite university. The data are obtained from the national database and statistically processed. According to the results we obtained, the rate of the school abandonment which is registered in such an university shows different trends depending on the faculty profile and the economic environment.

The paper presents the results provided by the simulation of a spatial mechanical structure, which replicates the human's locomotion system in terms of bone structure. The mechanical structure used for determining the human ankle joint reaction forces consists of 7 kinematic elements linked by 6 spherical joints constrained to 1 DOF each.

During the process of quality assurance in education, three subjects are in focus: institutional ... more During the process of quality assurance in education, three subjects are in focus: institutional capacity, educational effectiveness and quality management. Evaluation of the three aspects is done using criteria and standards expressed by performance indicators. Performance indicators are tools for measuring the performance of the university's work in relation to standards. These indicators can vary from the minimum level to the highest. The aim of the paper is to analyze how a quality indicator has evolved, which is related to the evaluation by the university management. Starting from the minimum standards set out in the job description, the percentage of their performance will be determined on the basis of the teachers' annual self-evaluation for the last 10 years. The study focuses on teaching and research on the one hand and managerial activities on the other. Also, on the basis of the analyzed results, we will see what the evolution trend is for the next years.

The paper will be concerned with establishing the most efficient way of teaching the principles o... more The paper will be concerned with establishing the most efficient way of teaching the principles of minimum size cam for mechanical engineering students. Three methods are presented and the test will reveal the most efficient one, in terms of understanding the general principles and the details related to the subject.Three groups of students are involved in this study. For each group, a different method was presented and the grades at the final test demonstrate which method was more effective for teaching the principles and for receiving the information by the tested subjects. The graphical method consists of drawing the cam profile by points taking into account the maximum admissible pressure angle. The second method for the minimum size cam is the analytical one, which consists of determining the eccentricity and radius of the cam basic circle using mathematical equations. The third method consists of an estimated method for translational followers based on simplifying assumptions.

More precisely was analyzed the wind potential in correspondence with some economical parameters that determines the efficiency of extracting clean energy. For this purpose, a data set that contains wind zonal and meridional components for a period of 20 years was processed. In this study, the data set was downloaded from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts. By analyzing the levelized cost of electricity, the annual energy production, the annual expensive and other parameters it can be easily observed that implementing new project for extracting renewable energy can be efficient.

It will also be intended to increase the visibility of university-oriented service activities for society and the socio-economic environment.
