Due to multi-drug-resistant bacterial strains have increased the problem, tuberculosis still remains a challenge. Mortality rates of patients with tuberculosis are high when left undiagnosed and untrearted. Standard diagnostics depends on methods developed in the last century which are slow and unreliable. In an effort to reduce the complexity of the disease, this paper presents our automated approach for detecting tuberculosis using chest radiographs. At ï¬rst we extract the lung region using a graph cut segmentation method. From this extracted lung region, we compute a set of texture and shape features, which enable the X-rays to be classiï¬ed as normal or abnormal using a binary classiï¬er.

Experiments were made as a function of different carbon sources, organic and inorganic nitrogen sources and metal ions to analyse the removal efficiency of para nitro-phenol present in the industrial wastewater sources. Observations revealed that the rate of phenol biodegradation was significantly affected by pH, temperature of incubation, glucose, peptone and metal ion concentration. The optimal conditions for phenol removal was found to be pH of 7.5, temperature, 35°C and 0.25 gL À1 supplemented glucose level, 0.25 gL À1 supplemented peptone level, and 0.01 gL À1 zinc ion. The key importance of the present study is the utilization of native bacterial strain isolated from the industrial effluent water itself having an impending role in the bioremediation process of phenol.
