The large Ex d enclosure was designed for gas group IIB explosive atmosphere with the help of MATLAB and ANSYS software and further a study of stress analysis due to internal pressure had been carried out on the plates and cover by keeping the thickness of body plate and cover constant. The study showed that stress was observed more in the center of the plate and reducing toward the edges of plates. The value of the length and breadth ratio (a/b) was found out with the help of the curve fitting method to calculate maximum stress (σ max) in the designed Ex d enclosure. The calculated maximum stress of all the plates was less than the simulated results, so the simulated results indicated that the designed enclosure is within the safety limit and suitable for hazardous area.

Arc welding is a prominent joining process in which two steel parts are joined by heat generated due to arc. Many researches have been carried out in joining of different materials by different welding techniques. Our research has been emphasized on TMT bars. A Thermo Mechanical Treated (TMT) bar is commonly used for making reinforced roofs and column of building. They are also used in for industrial purpose such as rock bolting in underground mines etc. Most of TMT bar's joining process took place with arc welding. In this paper a study has been made for the effect of welding position on strength of joined rods. In this study four Nos. of samples were taken having different locations of welding. They were allowed to cool under ambient condition. The chemical composition of parent material and weld zone were checked and observed that weld zone have different chemical composition compared with parent material. The variations of hardness with respect to distance were also checked using Brinell hardness testing machine and it was found that firstly hardness decreases and then increases with increase in distance from weld centre. From microstructural examination it has been seen that weld zone, HAZ and parent material all have different grain size as well as phase composition. Such change has been due to differential heating during welding. This increase and decrease in hardness has been justified with microstructural changes. Smaller grains have high hardness. Higher the pearlite phase higher is the hardness. There is decrease in hardness and strength in weld zone compared to parent zone and this was justified by lower percentage of carbon in weld zone as well as the microstructure of weld zone.

Various genetic markers like SNP markers can be established to predict the disease susceptibility. One of the milk protein, lactoferrin being highly polymorphic gene and capable of inhibiting the bacterial growth by chelating the iron could be exploited as potential marker. The bovine lactoferrin gene has two alleles A and B, forming three possible genotypes AA, AB and BB. The incidences of clinical mastitis has been associated with these genotypes among the Bosindicus (Tharparkar) and cross-bred (Bosindicus × Bostaurus) in this present article.

The behavior of the column is in good agreement with Rankine’s formula. Additionally, there is a very strong relation between actual buckling load and buckling load by Rankine’s formula. There is some difference between the theoretical and actual buckling load which may be due to geometrical defect, crack generation, chemical composition and formation of eccentricity. Columns show that the variation of differences between actual and theoretical buckling load with respect to wall thickness is parabolic in nature. Keywords: Hollow column, buckling load, compaction behavior, chemical composition, wall thickness

The β-defensins are antimicrobial peptides, belonging to "defensin" family and therefore acts as the first line of defense against the major infections occurring in dairy cattle including intramammary infections. The better resistance to mastitis displayed by Bos indicus is implicit in the fact that they have better adapted and also has more sequence variation with rare allele conserved due to lesser artificial selection pressure than that of Bos taurus. Among the 58 in silico predicted β-defensins, only a few have been studied in the aspect of intramammary infections. The data on polymorphisms occurring in various β-defensin genes is limited in B. indicus, indicating toward higher possibilities for exploring marker for mastitis resistance. The following review shall focus on concisely summarizing the up-to-date research on β-defensins in B. taurus and discuss the possible scope for research in B. indicus.

The problem of less and/or even lack of information and uncertainty in observations and decision making play a key role in many real world problems. Due to which the designers and engineers could not reach to sure solutions of the problems under consideration. In this paper a new approach and methodology to optimize various dragline operational parameters using fuzzy logic technique is presented. The method has been developed. The proposed model is performed on fuzzy logic tool box of MATLAB using Mamdani algorithm based on expert knowledge. A typical theoretical model was proposed and compared with real data. The results demonstrate that the proposed model provides significantly accurate, precise and crisp results

In terms of the method of coal excavation, the share of opencast mining, which was as low as 14% in 1951, increased to current high level of above 80%, whereas the share of underground mining declined from 77% in 1971, to its current 20%. Even though, we can't ignore the underground mining due to its superior quality of coal as well as for societal reasons i.e. rehabilitation of people in mining areas. According to statistics of accident data fall of roof/sides is one of the major causes of underground mine accidents. In many cases, our experiences and knowledge about soil and rock behavior still falls short of being able to predict how the ground will behave. Presently, empirical relations to design are widely used in estimating mine support parameters. Under these circumstances, expert technique plays an important role, and such accidents can be minimized with collection and optimization of parametric data and analysis using the fuzzy-neuro technique of artificial intelligence. The availability of data and knowledge are two important considerations in implementing such techniques i.e expert technique. In this paper we have discussed the different techniques of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that are adopted here include Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Fuzzy Logic Technique, and its hybridization, Fuzzy-Neuro Technique. Fuzzy-Neuro technique has come out with comparatively better solution to approximate the amount of pre-load causing roof fall which is applied to the standing props to support the roof during excavation. We have taken 12 input parameters of mining operation. Output obtained with fuzzy technique with 5 triangular membership function they were again trained with neural network using sigmoidal function. After having trained the network actual underground excavation parameters data were simulated through MATLAB to find the final output i.e pre-load to be applied on props so as not to dislodge during blasting. It was found satisfactory. Fuzzy-Neuro technique has better performance over individual fuzzy logic or neural networks technique.
