It is very necessary for a librarian and information professional to know about the user's pattern of literature use. A proper and systematic user study aims at collecting all the pertinent data concerning the users with the objective of building an efficient information system. The information seeking behavior of scientists and researchers is not very different from each other. But in some areas scientists' and researchers' information seeking behavior is little bit different. The reason could be based on some different factors as their knowledge, their information needs, use of information products, experience, generation gap, availability and portability of resources, their position and status in the organization, accessibility of information products, knowledge of using and managing electronic resources and information products. As from this study it is very clear that scientists & researchers preferred electronic and onl...

The stakeholders, particularly, the judges and attorneys, can take the best advantages of these models to predict the case outcomes to further augment their future course of actions, for example speeding up decision making, support arguments, strengthening the defense, etc. However, accurately predicting the legal decisions and case outcomes is an arduous process, which involves several complex steps—finding suitable bulk case documents, data extracting, cleansing and engineering, etc. Additionally, the legal complexity further adds to its intricacies. In this paper, we introduce our newly developed Machine Learning (ML)-enabled legal prediction model and its operational prototype, eLegPredict, which successfully predicts the Indian supreme court decisions. The eLegPredict is trained and tested over 3072 supreme court cases and has achieved 76% accuracy (F1-score). The eLegPredict is equipped with a mecha...

Nearly two-thirds (65.7%) of mothers who underwent elective cesarean section, and 62.8% of mothers who received spinal anesthesia were breastfeeding exclusively; while only 53.8% mothers who had undergone an emergency cesarean section and 28.6% who received general anesthesia were exclusively breastfeeding their neonates. All 9 mothers who initiated breastfeeding within 12 h of the surgery were practicing total breastfeeding. In contrast only 5.8% of mothers who initiated breastfeeding after 96 hours, were exclusively breastfeeding their neonates. Total breastfeeding was more frequent (86.8%) in newborn infants who received prelacteal feeds by spoon as compared to those who received by feeding bottle (33.3%). Babies separated from the mothers in hospital were less likely (35.5%) t...

A point of departure is the focus on the methodology used and the related issue of whether the inferences drawn are justified by the methodologies used. This is thus meant to be potentially useful for researchers in the broad area of information –seeking behaviour of the users in a digital environment. Eleven studies were selected for a deeper understanding of their users’ information needs and information-seeking behaviour and to make suggestions on how to enhance the effectiveness of library services and their efficient utilisation. The libraries selected for the present study are diverse–college libraries, university libraries, public libraries and a Government Department library. Our review is based on the results obtained through critical study and examination of the literature with the main focus on the Information Seeking Behaviour of the users. There is a diverse range of libraries and users covered by these studies, a...

For the present investigation, a well-organized poll has been defined and disseminated among the PG students understudies and research researchers of Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, so as to find out the recurrence of visit to the library, recurrence of utilization of printed data assets, utilization of library administrations, recurrence of utilization of electronic data assets, dimension of fulfillment towards usage of library assets and job of library in advancing the utilization of data assets. The result and recommendations of the examination would be helpful to take fitting measures to improve data assets and administrations.
