Traditional businesses often operate with an urge to make a profit without considering the negative impact of their operation on future generations. In modern-day social entrepreneurial initiatives through social business, social purpose businesses, social enterprises, and NGOs, etc are considering sustainable operations by balancing economic, social, and ecological perspectives besides offering economic gain. Plethora's research work highlights the importance of achieving sustainable development through social entrepreneurial endeavours. Thus, studies linking sustainable development and social entrepreneurship are geared towards making a positive impact on social, economic, and ecological balance on the planet. Among the various models of business operation, researchers, scholars, and policymakers find social entrepreneurship as a prominent alternative that ensures sustainable development goals, especially in developing countries (Muniz, 2023). The key aspects of sustainable development include economic progress, social inclusion, and environmental protection. These three pillars can be achieved by both men and women living in the society. Thus, the researcher, policy makers, government institution, general people, practitioners etc found social entrepreneurs as a prominent alternative for building up innovative business models towards achieving sustainable development. 4. Women Social Entrepreneurs and Sustainable Development: A Unique Perspective Social entrepreneurship regarded as gender neutral option for taking initiative. Both men and women have tendency to take social entrepreneurial attempt. But research evidenced that women being more compassionate and leadership skill considered as crucial to justify their valid presence in social entrepreneurship (Bacq and Alt, E. 2018). Gupta et al (2019) found the similar pattern of initiating social entrepreneurship among men and women. In contrast Hechaverria et al. (2017) highlighted that women's empathetic nature is appropriate for initiating social entrepreneurship. There lies strong connection between women social entrepreneurship and sustainable development. In the study of Esquivel and Sweetman (2016), argued that women's right and issue became pertinent from the period of 197-1995. The connection became stronger when the agenda of SDG's 17 were announced, with considerable input from the women's rights activists and advocates. Later policy makers and practitioner also mandate the equal participation from men and women both comprising from traditional, governmental, third sector (social business). To address the core issues of women's right from SDGs such as no poverty, gender equality, quality education, good health and well being; there is no alternate than initiatives from women social entrepreneurs. The characteristics of women social entrepreneurs are diverse from men as they considered as the care giver of the society since birth. The compassion, empathy, and resilience nature of women compelled them to think of such attempts that have primacy of social values over monetary values. The role of women social entrepreneurs is noticeable in education, healthcare, policy implications for gender equality, community improvement, and the environment. important to cover future research on sustainable and green entrepreneurship considering women and young entrepreneurs.
