It has significant risk on the psychological development to the children born to the affected mothers.2 According to the international classification of diseases postpartum depression is defined as the one occurring within first six week after delivery 3. The classification in DSM-5 states the depression having peripartum onset begins during pregnancy or within the first four weeks after giving birth4.
