Even while printed books and electronic books frequently contain the same material, they differ g... more Even while printed books and electronic books frequently contain the same material, they differ greatly from one another and each format has its own benefits and drawbacks. This study's purpose is to acquire a thorough grasp of the opinions and preferences of the lecturers in employing book formats for science teaching. The findings of the study would assist other lecturers in thinking through and selecting implementation strategies for employing those two types of book formats. Then, this study identifies the advantages and disadvantages of digital versus print books as well as the reasons why lecturers favor one over the other through this research. This study used a qualitative phenomenological methodology. The stages of the research are selecting research informants, collecting the data and analysis to drawing conclusions. Measuring the students' progress, competency, and accountability was necessary during the learning process. This study aims to learn about lecturers' opinions and practices about using online assessment during Covid-19 in the context of ELT classrooms. The research method used is qualitative research with a case study approach. It was conducted in the Economics and Business Faculty of the University of Muhammadiyah Jambi. Participatory observation and interviews are used to acquire data. It found some crucial points; online media used by lecturers to assess students and the positive and negative sides of lecturers' online assessment practices. They choose online text messages like Whats App Group and Telegram Group for interactive assessment. For neat task submission, they chose Google Classroom. Teacher should create learning environment as interesting as possible to keep their spirit high during teaching and learning process. In line with this, short stories can be a bridge to facilitate them to learn English. Teacher can explore them to make English learning more interesting and effective. This media helps students to concentrate and engage more enthusiastically in learning English. This paper aims to investigate the value of using short stories and how it is applied in young learners’ classroom. The purpose of the study was to investigate the influence of peer assessment of student speech skills in the second semester of Economics Development of STIE Muhammadiyah Jambi The design of this research is a quasi experimental with a posttest-only control group design. The population of the study was the semester II student of Economics Development of STIE Muhammadiyah Jambi year 2018/2019. The population consisted of 75 students. This research sample was class A as the experimental class and B as the control class. Both classes was taken the value of the speaking test which then be compared. It became one phenomenon occurred when lecturer changed one language (L1) into other language (L2... more It became one phenomenon occurred when lecturer changed one language (L1) into other language (L2) in one utterance. This was one kind of bilingualism named code switching. On this study, it focused on the types of code switching used by English lecturers in STIE Muhammadiyah Jambi. The objective of this study was to identify the types of code switching used by English lecturers. This was descriptive research. The participants were four English lecturers who taught English I for the first semester students at STIE Muhammadiyah Jambi. There were 2 meetings for each class to be recorded their teaching activity and also analyzed. After analyzing, it was found that there were three main types of code switching which were tag switching, inter-sentential and intra-sentential. In inter-sentential code witching it was divided into 2 sub type which were metaphor and situational code switching.
