Background: Radix entomolaris is a condition where an extra root is present distolingually to the distal root in the tooth. It can be seen in primary as well as permanent teeth. Case description: An 8-year-old patient reported with complaint of pain in lower left and right back tooth region since one month. On clinical examination, deep occlusal caries (ICDAS 5) was seen with respect to 36 and 46. On radiographic examination, an extra root was seen along with distal root in left and right mandibular first molar tooth. Conclusion: Knowledge of dental anomalies is very important from the perspective of pedodontist and endodontist. If any of the anomalies is missed by the clinician, there are high chances of failure of the treatment. Upon caries excavation, pulp was not exposed so indirect pulp capping treatment was done for 36 and 46. Clinical significance: Radix entomolaris is considered as an important condition from endodontic point of view and for providing good treatment especially in cases of root canal therapy.

Tumour markers are glycoprotein that can be determined in blood, saliva, urine and tissues by certain immunological methods. Cyclin D1 is such a marker which is seen to be expressed in various neoplasms. Its role has also been confirmed in gall bladder neoplastic conditions. The onset and progression of gallbladder carcinoma are accompanied with multiple genetic changes that result in qualitative and quantitative alterations in individual gene expression. Immuno-histochemical methods can be used to analyze cyclin D1 levels in gallbladder carcinomas, adenomas and cholecystitis to evaluate their relationships with the pathogenesis, development and metastasis of gallbladder carcinoma.

Materials and methods: A total of 382 children aged 3 to 6 years were examined from play homes and schools in Davangere, Karnataka, India, by the modified International Caries Detection and Assessment System criteria. A questionnaire was given to all the mothers of the examined children to fill in the details to create awareness among mother's oral hygiene measures. The collected data were then analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (version 17.0 software) to assess the prevalence of ECC and knowledge regarding ECC among mothers. Results: About 64.7% of mothers clean their child's mouth after feeding, 40.1% started practicing oral hygiene at the age of 12 months and practiced oral hygiene twice a day. Conclusion: Results show that mothers were quite aware of oral hygiene measures. They know about the proper way of toothbrushing and also about the frequency of brushing.
