Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sparta, SE. Ak., ME., CA. earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting Studies Program at Andalas University in 1989. Subsequently earned a Master's degree in Finance at the University of Indonesia in 2002. He obtained a Doctorate degree in Finance and Banking in 2015 at Padjadjaran University.

He has held the teaching profession from 1987 to 1991 at the Accounting Study Program, Faculty of Economics, Andalas University, Padang as a Permanent Lecturer for Civil Servants. From 1991 until now, he has continued to teach at various private universities in Jakarta and has taught for 8 years at the Extension Program of the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia (2000-2007).

Aside from being a teacher, he also has a lot of experience in the practical world, namely "PT. Sumber Saran Sempurna" as a resident consultant at BAPEDA Tk.1 Padang in 1989, at the Public Accounting Firm (KAP) Gafar Salim, Padang, at the "Eka Masni Accountant Office". ” Jakarta, at the Indonesian Development Bank (Bapindo) from 1991 to 1999 with the last 10 Indonesian Banking School Academic Guidebook positions as Head of Credit Financing, as a financial consultant at the FEUI Accounting Development Center (PPA UI), joined the Indonesia Banking School (IBS) since its inception in 2004 until now. During his time at IBS, he served as Head of the Accounting Study Program (2004-2009), as the first editor to publish the scientific journal “Journal of Finance and Banking” in 2004, Secretary for New Student Admissions in 2015, Deputy Head of the first Student Internship in 2004, as a Member of the IBS Senate since 2004 until now, and since February 1, 2015 until now as Deputy Chair I for Academic Affairs IBS.

He has produced various national and international scientific writings in journal articles and seminars. The book “Bank landing-Theory and Practice 3th edition” co-authored with Dr. Tom Crunje and Dr. Apriane D. Atahau, published by McGraw-hill, Australia, has been published in 2017. There are 36 of his writings published in national and international scientific journals since 2000 until now, 23 papers/scientific papers in various domestic conferences (Jakarta) , Manado, Padang, Salatiga, Central Java, Belitung, Bali, Semarang, Samarinda, Jayapura Irian, and Lampung) and presenters of 5 papers at international conferences in Shanghai 2014, Singapore 2016, in Thailand 2018, and Syah Alam Malaysia 2019.
