Joris has an extensive academic background in both International Relations and International Trade and Economics.

He has finished the M.Sc International Relations from the London School of Economics, with merit. Core modules were Economic Diplomacy and Foreign Policy Analysis.

In 2011, he received his B.A. Joint Honours in Political Science and International Economic Development with double First Class from McGill University, Canada. Core modules were Economics, Comparative Politics, and International Business.

In 2009, he obtained a B.A. in International Organisation and International Relations from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. Core modules were Trade Economics, International Politics, and Analytical Writing.

Joris currently works with Langley Intelligence Group. Here, he write security analyses and forecasts on economic and political developments in Southeast Asia and the European Union. His specialisations are: EU/UK financial regulation; Chinese banking system; Economic Politics of Emerging Countries.

In the past, Joris worked as a trainee for the European Union Mission to the World Trade Organisation in Geneva. Here, he worked in the divisions of Services, Intellectual Property, Standards in Trade, and Dispute Settlement.
