This type of research is a quasilaboratory experiment with a randomized post test only control group design. This research will be carried out from May to June 2022, including the preparation of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel extract, antioxidant activity tests, making wounds until the time for wound healing, as well as histopathological examination. The population of are wistar rats bred at Eldwin Laboratory is 300 individuals. Based on the calculation, the total sample in this study is 10 multiplied by 3 so there are 30 samples. The data obtained is not normally distributed then the statistical test is continued with Kruskal Willis test to determine differences in the effectiveness of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel extract in all groups. The results show that there is an effect of antioxidant activity of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel extract on fibroblast proliferation in the healing process of oral ulcers in wistar rats.

Therefore, a new method of early detection of oral carcinoma is required as treatment in the early stages is more effective at minimizing morbidity. The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in cellular structure of AgNOR nuclear proliferation activity collected from normal buccal mucosa with cytology exfoliative techniques in smokers and non-smokers. Nucleolar Organizer Region (NOR) is a DNA that encodes RNA ribosomes and is considered essential in protein synthesis. Calculation of AgNOR is considered as an index to estimate the potential of cellular mitosis. This is a descriptive analytic research with cross sectional approach. Data were collected at the Oral Medicine Installation, RSGMP FKG USU and laboratory examination was performed at the Anatomical Pathology Laboratory, Faculty of Medicine USU in January and February 2014. The number of research subjects was 20 people. The data were obtained by questionnaires and clinical examination on the subjects who met the inclusion criteria. Data analysis is done by testing the hypothesis done on univariate data and bivariate data. The collected data were analyzed with Mann-Whitney statistical test and unpaired t-test. The results of this study indicated that there were significant differences to the count of AgNOR smokers and non-smokers. The proliferation activity of buccal mucosal epithelial cells using AgNOR dye smokers and non-smokers showed significant difference (P = 0.0001). There is no significant relationship between the duration, type and number of cigarettes smoked per day. But the differences can be seen pathologically. In conclusion, there is a significant association between smoking and an increase in cell proliferation activity of the oral mucosa in smokers.

The speeds of disturbance depend on level of noise, impulsive component and duration of exposure, personal sensitivity that unknown characteristic. Noise belonging to acute stress needs short period to occur different from sorrow that takes long period. Stress will activate the regulator nerve and maintain intern environment to creates the homeostasis. Stress condition in long period will influence hormonal system, autonomic system until the exhaustion stadium and a few emotional expressive will be fixed for example dry mouth. Stress will also influence immune system so it is not effective to destroy the virus, microorganism and irregular cell that finally cause oral diseases.

The treatment of Xerostomia was carried out using local, mechanical and chemical stimulation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of gargling of green tea steeping on salivary flow rates in postmenopausal women with xerostomia at Darussalam Public Health Center in Medan. This is an experimental study using the design of control group, pretest-posttest and the non-probability of purposive sampling. Fourty menopausal women with xerostomia were used as sample. The treatment group gargled with green tea steeping while the control group gargled with distilled water. Saliva was collected into the pots for three minutes before and after treatment by spitting method. The analytical test used was the paired T-test and the unpaired. The results showed ...

A reduction of the saliva flow by 40% to 50% will cause xerostomia. Xerostomia as the main complaint, experience by about 14%-46% of patients. The objective of this research is to find out the influence of green tea gargle to saliva flow rate in xerostomia patient. Materials and Methods: Green tea with the Latin name Camellia sinensis (L). Polyphenol compounds, catechins in this tea cause a bitter taste that can stimulate the central nervous system resulting in increased salivary secretion. Green tea weighing 3 grams, brewed with 20 ml of hot water an let to stand for 5 minutes then strained and used it for gargeling. The subjects of the study were female of Puskesmas Darussalam visitors. The sample was selected using purposive sampling method and they consisted of 20 people for gargling group of green tea and 20 for gargeling aquades. Saliva was obtained by spitting method. Methods: This is an experimental research using one group pretest-posttest design. The sample chosen in this research is nonprobability sampling which is a purposive sampling which consists of 16 patients who has minor RAS and who pays a visit to RSGMP USU. The data is collected by doing an early examination of RAS about its location, size and the scale of soreness which later will be controlled for the first three days. Analysis data is done by using ANOVA Repeated to determine the difference between the observation of RAS before and after treatment. Results: The results of this research showed that it is statistically significant on its decreasing size of ulcer (p<0,05), on the first day, second day and third day of control. The scale of soreness shows a significant result as well (p<0,05) on the first day, second day and third day of control. Conclusion: The overall results shows there is a decrease in the size of the ulcer and its soreness which concludes, the gel of its extract can be used as an alternative therapy for the treatment of minor RAS.
