inmyhumble - Profile (original) (raw)

After having my own journal for a number of months, I realized that one of my favorite parts of LJ was the discussions, revelations, debates, and opinions I read about and had with my LJ friends.

So I decided to create a community for just that. Here's how it works...

1. Every once in a while, I will post a prompt. It might be light-hearted, it might be serious, it might make you laugh, it might make you mad, it will make you think.

2. Your job is to answer the prompt by commenting with your thoughts and answers. Check back frequently to read other's thoughts, and feel free to comment on them. Start a discussion! Make a friend!

3. In trying to keep a sense of order, I'm the only one with posting access. If you have a prompt you think would be great, e-mail it to me (aboveandbeneath@yahoo.com) and we'll see about using it.

4. Arguments are bound to happen at some point. That's okay. If you feel uncomfortable with what someone is saying to you, write PLEASE STOP in your response to them. That thread (but not comments to the post in general) will be dead.

5. Along with that, don't be a dick. Keep it civil. No personal attacks.

6. Be honest with us and yourself. In order to not be swayed, answer before you read the other answers.

7. Participate! The most pathetic thing in the world is a dead community.

8. Tell your friends how fun we are!

9. A question is never dead. Feel free to add to any of them.

If you're wondering what our icon is, it's the alethiometer from Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials. It's a device that answers any question the owner asks of it. Truthfully. I thought it was fitting.
