As I watched a tiny (but in my eyes, HUGE) house centipede crawl its way towward my unsuspecting self this evening, I screamed in horror and jumped onto my bed (a la every cheesy cartoon where the wimpy woman jumps on a chair to get away from a mouse), where it joined me soon after.
Why should everyone care?
This is why.
I'm sitting here (NOT IN MY HOUSE) wondering why people tend to be afraid of such tiny things. It really can't hurt me, but I was REALLY scared of it. Granted, I sure didn't expect it in the middle of February in snow-covered Minnesota, but why was I so scared to the point of actually screaming? Why is it the natural tendency to balk at tiny creepy-crawlies?
