A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, there was a whiny brat who turned into a whiny Jedi, a stuck-up princess who turned into a stuck-up heroine, and a cocky bastard who ... always remained a cocky bastard.

They had friends, too, and enemies, and it was all a grand adventure; a fine space opera.

We're here to relate it to you.

...we don't think you've quite seen Star Wars like this before.

Gameplay

There is no strict format for this game. It's journal-based roleplay (with posts in the main community, not personal journals), but the timeline and posting requirements are dictated by whenever the hell you feel like it.

To give some structure, there is a vague chronological order in all this -- each month or so, the time period will shift, and we'll concentrate on those posts and commentaries. But within each period, time is a face on the water, and it's entirely reasonable for a post discussing the second Death Star to be followed by something relating to Jabba's Palace. It depends only on when inspiration for a post hits. In Star Wars, our timelines are pastede on (yay!), after all. (Of course, everyone who responds to a post should be from the same point in time -- just for reference.)

The time periods in this game are dictated by the movies, and therefore consist of: A New Hope; the space between ANH and ESB; The Empire Strikes Back; the space between ESB and RotJ (i.e., Shadows of the Empire); and Return of the Jedi. At the end of this five month run-- well, that hyperspace jump will be made when we reach the coordinates, but we'll probably loop again.

This game is based almost entirely on Original Trilogy (all versions) canon. SotE is being utilised solely because it provides canon material between two movies. Some people might think this means we should use Marvel and Empire comics along with Splinter of the Mind's Eye, for between ANH and ESB, but those people need stabbed in the eye with a fiery ballpoint pen.

Undoubtedly, things will change as time goes on -- check notinthecantina for updates.

2. The second rule is, you do not take this game seriously.

3. If you do take this game seriously, Wes Janson will cut you. Cut you like Zekka Thyne.

4. This game has no rating, but -- for language, please remember that GFFA characters have their own swear words; for violence, please remember that this is a war; and for sex/drugs, please remember that there are pilots and smugglers as well as the good little Jedi. *grin*

To Join

1. Decide on a character that isn't already taken.

2. Contact djcati (info in profile) and request them.

3. ... that's it.

However! Don't expect to get someone solely on the merit of asking. I'll take a look at your personal journal (it helps if there are links to fanfiction or other roleplaying accounts), think about it, and get back to you within a week. You don't get special treatment just for being one of my friends.

(Please bear in mind that I am a) a college student, b) a little bit lazy, and c) Scottish, so when I say I'll get back to you in a week, I mean something that vaguely resembles one.)
