A New Advanced Implementation Results of Comprehensive Statistical Analysis for Recent Smartphone Sleep-Tracking Applications, 2023
Background: Sleep disorders and lack of sleep are serious health problems that must be accurately... more Background: Sleep disorders and lack of sleep are serious health problems that must be accurately monitored and closely followed-up before the cumulative long-term effects of sleep deprivation and sleep disorders have been associated with a wide range of deleterious health consequences including an increased risk of hypertension, diabetes, obesity, depression, heart attack, and stroke. Therefore, in these recent years of thriving technologies especially in the fields of Smartphones, biometric sensors, Artificial Intelligence, Programming and App developing; leading to thousands of downloadable apps from different stores (Google play, and Apple store) that offer a stable, controllable, and scalable options for sleep tracking apps utilization at general population level since it became an important target of health and fitness app developers. Moreover, the recent sleep tracking apps have many features and functionalities including smart alarms, sleep aids, sleep cycles, and sleep analysis. Objective: This study aims to comprehensively survey, review and analyze most recent smartphones' sleep tracking apps in the period from Februaryto-June 2023 scouting and exploring their technical features and functionalities in order to comprehensively explore their effectiveness in sleep tracking activity of users. Methods: This study has surveyed the Apple Store and Google Play as the two major stores for most popular sleep tracking apps. The following keywords were used in our search for applications: sleep apps, sleep monitoring, sleep tracking, sleep analysis, sleep quality, sleep coaching, and sleep statistics. Titles, descriptions, and keywords of the selected applications were thoroughly checked and reviewed. First all publicly available smartphones' apps in stores were included. Then, apps used for other purposes than sleep tracking were excluded. Moreover, apps that are not intended for self-management sleep tracking such as baby sleep tracking apps were excluded during the apps screening and filtering process. Furthermore, the apps that have the same technical features and/or functionalities were excluded for duplication, along with the low usage and low ratings apps during the apps eligibility filtering process. Finally, the remaining apps were rated individually for consistency with the well-known American Psychiatric Association (APA) app evaluation model taken to consideration that each store was analyzed separately. Results: a total of 157 most recent sleep-tracking related apps were included at first in our study which took place during the period from Februaryto-end of June 2023 focusing on 24 major technical features of sleep-tracking apps, 32 apps (20.38%) were excluded from the study due to irrelevant main design and implementation purposes, while another 9 apps (5.73%) were excluded for not supporting self-management sleep tracking, then another 12 apps (7.64%) were excluded due to low usage and low rating during study period. Moreover, 21 apps (13.37%) did not meet the designed requirement values of APA-based statistical model of the study, finally 83 apps (52.86%) satisfied all the applications inclusion criteria, technical features of the study, and designed statistical model values. Conclusions: Even though there are several hundreds of smartphones' sleep-tracking applications that were approved, this statistical and analytical study evaluates and examines the 24 content analysis and major technical features in 83 of the more recent with users' most highly rated apps in Apple and Google play stores with several advantages and beneficial features, including smart alarms and sleep aids. However, a review of apps that met the inclusion requirements revealed that sleep-tracking applications can utilize more improvements in technical features design and implementation, along with privacy for users' data sharing.

System models used in this paper are based on both Direct-Sequence and Time-Hopping as spreading techniques for the UWB Pulses. UWB System presented in this paper studied the performance of RAKE Receiver with different number of RAKE Fingers. The analysis and simulation has been run using the 6 th derivative of UWB Gaussian pulse which is the new Pulse Shape studied in the paper. The analysis shows that; the UWB pulse-shape and also the number of RAKE fingers have a definite broad effect on the SNR and consequently the BER performance in the multipath fading channel. Finally, the paper conclude that the proposed 6 th derivative UWB pulse shape is more efficient since; it complies with the FCC power regulation requirements, and its BER performance is better in the interference-rich environments.

Multipath propagation is a fact of life in any terrestrial radio scenario. While the direct or li... more Multipath propagation is a fact of life in any terrestrial radio scenario. While the direct or line of sight path is normally the main wanted signal, a radar receiver will receive many signals resulting from the signal taking a large number of different paths. These paths may be the result of reflections from buildings, mountains or other reflective surfaces including water, etc. that may be adjacent to the main path. Additionally other effects such as ionosphere reflections give rise to multipath propagation as does tropospheric ducting .The multipath propagation resulting from the variety of signal paths can give rise to interference in a variety of ways including distortion of the signal, loss of data and multipath fading. This paper deals with the processing of the received signals in the radar receiver in order to minimize the effects of the multipath signals. The line-of-sight (LOS) echo is considered the main signal to represent the target.

System models used in this paper are based on both Direct-Sequence (DS) and Time-Hopping (TH) as spreading techniques for the UWB Pulses. UWB System presented in this paper studied in the presence of MUI and Gaussian-Noise using RAKE Receiver with different number of RAKE Fingers. The analysis and simulation has been run using two types of narrow (Sub-nanoseconds) UWB Pulse Shapes with same power; first-the second derivative of UWB Gaussian pulse (Gaussian Doublet), and second-the 6 th derivative of UWB Gaussian pulse which is the Main Case-study concerns this paper. The analysis and results show and clarify that both; the used UWB pulse-shape and also the number of RAKE fingers has an obvious impact on the SNR and consequently the BER performance in the IEEE802.15.3a channel model. Finally, the paper conclude that the proposed 6 th derivative UWB pulse is more suitable for both; fulfilling the FCC power regulation requirements, and BER performance in MUI environment since increasing derivative order consequently increases the peak emission frequency but decreases signal Bandwidth.

MMSE adaptive algorithm is more efficient and powerful because of its ability and features of adaptation to the substantial changes in the UWB multipath wireless communication channel model proposed by the IEEE 802.15.3a working group based on modified (S-V) channel model because it is the most realistic and practical channel model due to the nature of multipath wireless environment. تتناول هذه الحقيبة التدريبية بعض الموضوعات الهامة والحديثة في مجالات هندسة الاتصالات وتقنية المعل... more تتناول هذه الحقيبة التدريبية بعض الموضوعات الهامة والحديثة في مجالات هندسة الاتصالات وتقنية المعلومات، وتكمن أهمية الموضوعات في كونها تدخل في العديد والكثير من التطبيقات والخدمات بشتى أنواعها من ذاتية وشخصية أو حكومية أو أمنية أو زراعية أو صناعية في حياتنا العامة اليومية.
وقد ركزت الحقيبة على أهم أربعة موضوعات حديثة وذات طابع تطبيقي هام في حياتنا وهي؛ أولاً "البيانات الضخمة" (BIG Data) بمفهومها وأمثلة تطبيقية عليها، وأنواعها وخصائصها، ودورة حياتها وطريقة عمل أنظمة إدارتها، ومزايا معالجتها بالطرق السليمة.
ثانياً "الحوسبة السحابية" (Cloud Computing) بمفاهيمها وتعريفاتها، والأفكار الأساسية القائمة عليها، وخصائصها وصفاتها والفوائد المكتسبة منها، ونماذج الخدمة والنشر الخاصة بها.
ثالثاً "إنترنت الأشياء" (Internet of Things) (IoT) بمفاهيمه ووجهات المختلفة فيه، وأهميته وتأثيرات تطبيقاته في حياتنا العامة بمختلف المجالات، وكيفية عمل تقنيات نظامه، والأجهزة المستخدمة فيه، وعملية الاتصال وتبادل البيانات في نظامه، والواجهات المستخدمة للبرامج التطبيقية للمستخدمين في نظامه.
رابعاً "الأمن السيبراني" (Cyber Security) بتعريفه ومفهومه ووجهات النظر المختلفة فيه، أهميته وعناصر بيئته والعوامل المهمة فيه، تقنياته وكيفية التعامل مع الأخطار والتهديدات المنتشرة في الإنترنت من خلال تقنياته، مزايا وفوائد تطبيق مواصفاته.

Therefore, the aim of this course is to address important areas and aspects of statistics and probability sciences. They are areas that aim to study statistical computational operations and probability logics as basic and important aspects for developing the ways of thinking of students of various fields.
This Handbook was written under the title "Fundamentals of Statistics" to provide students and trainees with the necessary knowledge and various scientific aspects in the hope that it will contribute to enabling the student to comprehend the basic principles and important concepts in statistics and probabilities that contribute and serve greatly and important in science and technology.

علوم الإحصاء والاحتمالات بشكل عام هي علوم تساعد على توسيع مدارك الطالب أو المتدرِّب في تخصصات الح... more علوم الإحصاء والاحتمالات بشكل عام هي علوم تساعد على توسيع مدارك الطالب أو المتدرِّب في تخصصات الحاسب الآلي، وتنمي في الطالب تعلُّم المنطقية في التفكير، كما تطوِّر من منهاجيته وطريقته لتناوُل المشكلات ومنطقية أساليب حلها. ولذلك فإن هدف هذا المقرر هو تناوُل مجالات وجوانب هامة من علوم الإحصاء والاحتمالات؛ وهي المجالات التي تهدف الى دراسة العمليات الحسابية الإحصائية ومنطقيات الاحتمالات كجوانب أساسية وهامة لتنمية طُرُق تفكير دارسي وطلاب مُختلَف مجالات الحاسب الآلي.
نظراً لأهمية علوم الإحصاء والاحتمالات وضرورتها الواضحة في الدراسات الحسابية والمنطقية ، و حرصاً من الكلية التطبيقية بجامعة جازان؛ جرى تأليف هذه الحقيبة التدريبية تحت عنوان " مقدمة الإحصاء والاحتمالات" لتزويد الطلاب والمتدربين بالمعارف والجوانب العلمية اللازمة المختلفة أملاً في أن تسهم في تمكين متدرب هذا المقرر من استيعاب المبادئ الأساسية والمفاهيم الهامة في علوم الإحصاء والاحتمالات التي تُسهِم وتخدم بشكل كبير ومهم في علوم وتقنيات الحاسب الآلي، وتوسيع مدارك الطالب أو المتدرِّب و اطلاعه وتمكينه من حسن الاستفادة من هذا العلوم في صورة مبسطة تشمل المبادئ الأساسية، مع التوسع في شرح الاستخدامات و الجوانب التطبيقية من هذه العلوم الرياضية والحسابية المنطقية بما يناسب تخصص متدربي هذا المقرر.

سبحان الله الذي خلق الإنسان متميزاً عن باقي المخلوقات بقدرته على التفكير والابتكار والاختراع، وكا... more سبحان الله الذي خلق الإنسان متميزاً عن باقي المخلوقات بقدرته على التفكير والابتكار والاختراع، وكان ذلك متدرجاً مع حاجة الانسان للتفاهم والاتصال وقد ازدادت هذه الحاجات مع زيادة المجتمعات الانسانية وزيادة التطور التكنولوجي الذي ظهر جلياً في مجالات الالكترونيات والاتصالات وظهرت آثاره واضحةً في مجال تقنيات الحاسب وتقنيات الاتصالات؛ مما أدى الى ظهور العديد من الابتكارات الحديثة التي يسَّرت للإنسان الكثير من الأمور وأتحت له فتح مجالات متعددة في الحياة المعاصرة. والأمثلة على ذلك كثيرة بدءاً من شبكات التراسل المتعددة مثل؛ شبكات الهاتف العادية والهاتف الجوال، وشبكات الخدمات الرقمية المتكاملة.
ومن هنا تظهر جلياً أهمية الاتصالات وعملية نقل المعلومات من نقطة الإرسال الى نقطة الاستقبال، وأهمية دراسة هذا العلم وتوضيح خطوات عمليات الاتصال وطرق وتقنيات نقل المعلومات عبر الوسط الناقل أو (قناة الاتصال) وكيفية استقبالها في الجهة الأخرى عند جهاز الاستقبال وكيفية استخلاص المعلومات من الإشارة المستقبلة.
