From COP29 - Pathways for Climate Investment in Iraq undp.org - Supporting Sustainable Reintegration and Community Stability in #Iraq! In partnership with the Ministry of Migration and Displacement, UNDP implemented a internal consultation workshop for Ministry of Migration and Displacement (MoMD) staff in Erbil to discuss the draft Reintegration Strategy and gather insights and expertise for improvement. During the workshop, participants discussed how to strengthen the MoMD’s strategy for supporting reintegration of returnees, build teamwork and accountability, and work toward a shared vision for effective reintegration. This workshop was organized with funding from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) through UNDP Iraq’s Community Reconciliation and Reintegration of Iraqis Returning from Syria’s Al-Hol Camp (CRRISA) project.
- 🚗 Together with Toyota we are equipping youth with necessary skills to boost Iraq’s automotive sector! 🚗 We successfully completed the Automotive Technician Program, a three-month vocational training for young Iraqis aiming to support employment within Iraq’s automotive sector and beyond. Through this Training, young people gained hands-on experience and essential skills in Toyota’s automotive field, covering vehicle maintenance, repair, safety, and craftsmanship. Funded by Germany through KfW, this initiative is part of the Building Resilience Through Employment Promotion (BREP) project, which has reached over 10,000 young Iraqis in Anbar, Ninewa, Kirkuk, Diyala, and Salah al-Din to date, fostering recovery and resilience across #Iraq. 👏 Let’s celebrate the achievement! Meet Nassem from #Anbar, #Iraq. After years in Al-Hol camp, he’s returned home and has finally been able to launch his own business. Nassem’s life took a new turn when he received a grant through a business support program implemented by UNDP and World Vision, generously supported by USAID Iraq. “This grant is more than money; it’s a chance to rebuild,” Nassem says. Today, he’s not only earning an income for himself but also creating jobs for others in his community. Read more: https://go.undp.org/oub
