I thought some of you might find this short film interesting. Al Roach: Private Insectigator is a black and white CG animation film done the film noir style about a colony of bugs living in the weeds behind the Hollywood sign. Its only available today on AOL. You can check it out here... what do you think? pretty good, huh?

[ **mood** | contemplative ] Late at night and I'm doing a search for anyone with "Amon Tobin" as an interest, and lo and behold this community shows up. So I've joined, mostly just because I like the name and I like the description ;o) By the way, this song is fucking gorgeous. Any advice on what to listen to in order to know the "essentials" of downtempo? I'm pretty sure I've got most of them, but this is one of those genres that I got into in a sort of messy fashion -- hearing things I knew I loved and chasing after information on specific bands rather than getting to know the whole thing as a genre. So I'm sure there's certain important things I've missed, and I'd like to fill in those holes ;o)

I work at Starbucks. Today, we got Hear Music, Volume 7 in and I was fucking overjoyed. The Tindersticks "Trouble Everyday" song came and I was fucking HAPPY. Plus, this CD has Sparklehorse, Jack Johnson, Ryan Adams, Miles Davis, John Coletrain and all this AMAZING shit piled on it. It's GREAT, and I just wanted to share that with you all.

awesome journal. i know i'm gonna like it here. i've been touted as the ultimate trip hop fan before but i'm far from that achievement. i'm always looking for new music. i already have all the trip hop essentials that i'm aware of like Portishead (my absolute favorite), Massive Attack, Tricky, Lamb, Morcheeba, Bjork, Alpha, Hooverphonic, and the like, but i crave more. if you have any suggestions let me know.

I just found this. It's a really, really great picture of Jonsi from Sigur Ros playing his guitar with his violin bow. I've never seen this close of a color picture of him playing it. Anyway, nice. That's all. Oh, and credit where credit is deserved: I ripped it off of some post in the sigur ros community.
