In a previous publication – based on empirical work, a comprehensive literature review, and the practice of its application teaching graduate students on qualitative research – a conceptual model for ADR has been developed. It has presented a tri-dimensional perspective, emergent from the Organization Development, Engineering and Science approaches, identifying its core processes and data. Based on that view, a high-level Process Meta-Model has been produced, detailing the main processes involved in ADR interventions and the associated data flows. Progressing within this structured line of research, the objective of this publication is to present a pragmatic approach to ADR main data structures – under the form of a high-level Data Model – evidencing the core data involved in the design, planning, development, and evaluation of this kind of initiatives. It includes the associated data structure diagram and the relevant details of the respective data components, which will act as researchers’ facilitators for documenting the whole process

After careful analysis of existing SPL development methods, we noted that most of them do not provide a sound answer to some typical concerns – e.g. accurate business/domain analysis or efficient change management – of developing business information systems. Therefore, we decided to go forward to an SPL methodology definition that encompasses methods, activities and applicable technologies. The goal of this paper is to present our research approach and the main outcome of our work, an SPL oriented methodology (SPLUP)especially suited for business information systems development.

Design/methodology/approach The approach is to conduct the research and produce the meta-model for DSR with FG, a DSR approach was adopted using a conceptual model for Action Design Research already available. The artefact is the result from a specific literature review to define requirements, a careful design and a refinement stage where it was widely used and tested in real IS implementation projects. Findings Rigorous and committed stakeholder engagement is a critical success factor in complex projects. The main outcome of this research is a specific meta-model for DSR with FG that delivers new insights and practical guidelines for academics and professionals conducting and documenting re...

The aim of this study was to characterize, from a physician perspective, the teleconsultations carried out in the Portuguese National Health Service (SNS) during the first phase of the pandemic and to identify factors that influence the experience of the teleconsultation.Material and Methods: A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted based on an online survey, between July-September 2020, aimed at SNS doctors. Data on demographics, practice, attitudes and perceptions associated with the teleconsultation was collected. The adjusted prevalence ratio (aPR) was calculated to identify demographic factors and determinants of teleconsultation associated with satisfaction, use of video calls and greater motivation to carry out teleconsultations in the future. Results: 2225 valid responses were obtained. Teleconsultation was...

To exploit its full business performance potential, the application of technology must be aligned with the mission, objectives and goals of the business, and be integrated with the people and the organisational elements. Changing environmental conditions demand the development of new ways to visualise and to design businesses. Reference frameworks facilitate management development of the business vision and enables alignment of vision across the organisation. This article presents a new reference paradigm for the emerging manufacturing industry vision: the Extended Enterprise. The authors detail a prescriptive framework to realise the Extended Enterprise.

It is predicted that seniors will represent almost 30% of the European population by the year 2050. Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) solutions may provide an answer to the challenges that these demographic changes bring. AAL as a concept is to interconnect Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with certain devices in order to create products and services to assist its users in all periods of life (e.g. difficulty in climbing stairs can be compensated for by a mechanical stair lift). One important area of AAL is lifelong learning which aims to allow continuous education during the course of a person's life. One way of enabling lifelong learning for seniors is by using electronic-learning platforms (E-Learning). These platforms enable their users to access learning content from almost any location. However, the level of complexity of these platforms may arise as an obstacle for seniors. The Ambient Assisted Living for All (AAL4ALL) project was launched to create a wide range of AAL-related products and services. One of the services which will be offered by this project is an E-Learning and recreational platform especially designed for seniors. The objective of this dissertation is to plan and create the prototype of such a platform. In order to develop a prototype of this nature, we required assistance from the senior population to carry out two different types of studies. First a requirements study was performed in order to gather feedback from our target group before moving on to the development phase. Once the development phase was complete, a usability study was performed to test how seniors interacted with the prototype.
