According to the studies present very few authors have studied the effect of these two phenomenons. The study collects the literature review on the works of various authors and decides upon the criteria for measurement of these project risk factors and climate/environmental factors. Then the study presents a statistical approach for development of relationship between the two. A survey is done in order to study a complete mutual effect on the various factors of project risk and environmental changes on the same projects. The electrical transmission line installation project related professionals are approached for survey. The statistical analysis by SPSS software in this study (based on results from the survey) confirms the presence of mutual relationship with correlation and regression of a high value between project risk and environmental/climatic changes and emerges as a tool for curbing environmental and climate abrupt changes in the immediate surroundings.

The author'sopinions are collected in the form of literature survey and major points of concern were collected and infused in the model development of the whole of the firm. The case study is of alogistics firm where the parameters are collected and then a simulation model is designed. The modelis designed on ARENA software. The parameters of the case industry are placed in the model and then it is simulated for over .1 million hours. The result shows that the lead time related problems leads to a large waiting time for the batches. This way the study helped in analyzing the risks and it involves the use of simulation for centrally monitoring the logistics management firm for fluctuations or risks.

T... more The paper links justified stress based fatigue allowance allocation with project risk analysis. The paper deals with the introduction of conceptual framework of developing an efficient allowance management system for service sector based stress measurement, since in the service sector unlike any conventional manufacturing assembly line there are drastically different stress levels for different individuals working in the same firm. We are hereby advocating a tailor made system of rest allowance allocation in accordance to stress level of each individual. A structural framework is given here for allocation of rest allowance in service industry according to the need of the subject to increase the productivity and upkeep of motivation for any individual.

The management of such an assembly line is very much a point of consideration. The main aspect which deals with these assembly lines is the uncertainty related with them in day to day operations. The dependence on these assembly lines cannot be dispensed with. Hence, it is necessary to devise an improved and centrally controlled system to control uncertainties.A study was carried out for the purpose in a cable manufacturing unit. The most important aspect related to management of supply chain in such a system is that it involves a lot of activities over a long span of control. Involvement of a large number of supply chain firms in the process, and that too each with different technical expertise, compounds the problem. It is often observed that the main manufacturer may have in place all the facilities for better efficiency, while the supplier may not be very proficient ...

We have analyzed the various risk factors related to transmission lines' installation. The technique used is ISM (Interpretative Structural Modelling) which offers a very lucid explanation of factors related to risk and also their interdependence with other factors. Along with it, AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) is also used to rank the project risks. The paper also notifies the various risks that are in particularly related with the electrical industry and mainly in the sector of transmission lines. The analysis can be further carried out by various industries since the factors may be different but the analysis' methodology will remain the same. Graphical relationship and ISM model is used to represent the correlation between the HR (Human Resource) factors (9 in number) and general risks that are identified in 30 diff...

The study starts with the collection of author's viewpoint by the literature survey. This literature survey has enabled us to make one such criterion in which the specific points like uncertainty in assembly lines, coordination and flexibility in logistics and general operational difficulties are taken more care while designing the system for centrally controlled simulation of thermosetting plastics industry. The model is developed in this study for a thermosetting plastics industry firm with the use of ARENA software. The model with all the parameters is simulated for getting the results. Results marked various bottlenecks in the form of long queue length, units in waiting and logistics related problems. The study validated its suggested methodology by analyzing these results for achieving better control and optimization in assembly line based manufacturing...

The monitoring should be based on the risk sensitivity of the various parameters of the project. These parameters, derived through exhaustive literature survey and expert advice, are given special references while monitoring the project for risk analysis. Six Sigma level of accuracy is conceptualized in this study for electrical transmission line installation projects. On analyzing the possibility of risk occurrence on Sigma levels for each pre-decided parameter, it is found that technical parameters have got the maximum number of risks associated with them. The methodology proposed in the paper provides a guideline for risk monitoring for electrical transmission line installation projects.

The paper collects the view point of various authors and experts on the subject and then the categorization of risk is done. It is being found that authors have mainly mentioned five types of risk factors. They are Environmental Risk Factors, Financial Risk Factors, Human Risk Factors, Human Resource (Management) Risk Factors and Technical Risk Factors. Technical risk factors are found to be most important by many authors. This is the reason why technical risk factors are further divided into nineteen sub technical risk factors in this study over a span of six major categories of project activities. In this manner the paper identifies and classifies the risk factors present in electrical transmission line installation project.

T... more Maintenance is inevitable and each machine requires maintenance after certain interval of time. There are several maintenance policies catering to maintenance needs of manufacturing organisations. The bottom line is that, several issues together govern the selection of a particular maintenance policy. So, in order to understand the factors responsible for selection of particular maintenance policy an empirical study is carried out. In this research paper thirty six issues in maintenance are identified using available literatures and questionnaire survey conducted on industry practitioners and is analysed using t-test, factor analysis and Friedman's test. Factor analysis is carried out to summarise the large number variable into set of few comprehensible factors and then Friedman's test is performed to rank those factors according to the various identified maintenance policy in order to identify the critical factors playing important role in selection of a particular maintenance policy. The study is carried out in the Indian manufacturing sector.

A case study of electrical transmission line power distribution project is undertaken. The project is divided into six phases and scheduling parameters for each phase are analyzed with the help of parameter score given by the relevant experts. This score is derived from pre-set modules like impact, frequency of occurrence, cost involved and mitigation level. On the basis of these parameter scores it has been found that Low level of connectivity and discussion between site engineers and design engineers and Faulty or unclear design along with Delay at the various permissions and approvals needed comes out to be most important parameters for project schedule variations. Hence this methodology proves helpful in curbing the project schedule related risks.

The method exemplifies on collection of risk data on the basis of pre-decided risk factors in which the project team members are asked to give opinion about various risk factors. Since the main risk management team has already given various pre-defined risk sectors the collective opinion derived gives true value of risk, and the involvement of local workers give an edge over others since they have vast knowledge of geographical factors and this is how their knowledge can be scientifically used to determine environmental risk which is a very true estimation of real risk value. This article has successfully identified factors and scaled them up with the help of a questionnaire-based study. Moreover, different levels of management also pose different environment risk priorities which is also analysed in this article.

The study gives the complete analysis for each risk type and finally they are analyzed by both AHP and DT; both of these techniques are selected for project’s risk minimization while designing the risk mitigation plan. A model is generated for minimizing the project risk and the risks selected after being analyzed through AHP and DT are then treated with this model for risk mitigation. Overall the study minimizes project risk by a three-step procedure, that is, AHP, DT, and finally through the risk minimization model for electrical transmission line installation projects.

A mathematical relationship is also developed that includes the effect of risk mitigation on a particular risk. The risk factor when analyzed with both the probability of occurrence and effect of mitigation gives the impact value for that risk. Then we have developed a model in AMOS software for analyzing the effect of risk factors and project characteristic factors on each other, the high value of estimate in between the two proves their interrelated.
