This is an collective work summarizing the field work and the subsequent in-workshop analyses of the urban planning studio at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Urban and Regional Planning (Istanbul) with the first year students, in 2018 Spring term in Misiköy / Gümüştepe, Nilüfer, Bursa. It includes a substantial bibliography on the neighbourhood and its region, spatial, historical and socioeconomic analysis on diverse scales.

Plan drawing as an architectural representation style and table drawings discussed in this text, ... more Plan drawing as an architectural representation style and table drawings discussed in this text, offer not only a technical image, but a performativity that brings action and interpretation together. While the table mediates to think about the plan drawing with reference to horizontality, it also refers to the simplest form of architecture because it can stand as a legged object. From this point of view, the story of three different embodied tables that will serve to point out the performative act is told: The Magic Table from Junya Ishigami; Ines-table from Enric Miralles; Defeated Table or Dining Table from Sarah Wigglesworth and Jeremy Till.

disiplinlerarası deneysel eğitim yaklaşımımızı ortaya koymayı amaçlıyoruz. “Bilinemeyenler
Haritası” üretim sürecinden sonra da daha çok oynamaya davet ederek değişip gelişmeye devam
eder. Böylece yerleşik bilgiler ve verili gerçekleri sorgulamayı; bilmeme, bildiğini unutmaya
çalışma ve yerinde deneyim paylaşımıyla sürekli öğrenmenin yer üzerine çalışmalardaki rolünü
sorgulamayı istiyoruz.

We aim to present here a mapping that we produced at the 4th Istanbul Design Biennial and
our collective and playful interdisciplinary experimental educational approach.Our “Map of
Unknowables” continues to change and develop after its production process as it invites for
further play. As such, we aim to question the settled knowledges and given realities; the role of
unknowing, forgetting what we know, and continuous learning through sharing situated lived
experiences over studies on place.
