Given that transportation causes carbon-dioxide (CO2) emissions, this paper analyzes the impact of China’s Airway Freight industry on CO2 emissions through econometric models such as linear regression and the Johansen Co-integration tests, with the ultimate goal of understanding the extent of the freight industry’s influence on carbon dioxide emissions. The effect of airway freight on CO2 emissions has been especially studied between the years 1980 and 2011.

JEL Classification: F18; R40; Q53.

Keywords: CO2 Emission; Airway Freight Transportation; Export Volume; Johansen Cointegration Test.

Annual data set ranging from 1961 to 2014 was used with this respect. The results of this study verify the long-term and positively elastic impact of shadow economic activities on the level of ecological footprint in Turkey; that is, 1 % change in shadow economic activities results in a 1.008% change in ecological footprint in the same direction. This study, therefore, reaches a significant conclusion that in Turkey, shadow economies are long-term and essential drivers of environmental pollution.

In this study, the answer to the question of how export credit insurance provided by Eximbanks in order to encourage countries’ exports affects country exports was looked for. Panel Data Analysis was applied to 22 high-income countries. As a result of Panel Data Analysis, it has been revealed that both short- and medium-long term export insurance effect exports significantly in the positive direction. Medium-long term export insurance seems to be more influential than short-term export insurance.
