IUD Divas (original) (raw)

Hey all, thank goodness this place exists. I hope it’s still active enough to get some help. 27 years old, never given birth don’t plan to anytime soon (hence the IUD)

I had my kyleena IUD placed on the 21st of June. It’s my first time. I had it inserted during my “period,” from the pill, but I didn’t really bleed much that week. My period is EXTREMELY irregular and the reason I went on the pill. That’s a whole other story though.

When I had it inserted, I had minimal cramping for about 3ish days and then pretty much nothing until two days ago.

Two days ago, I started having a cramping that usually happens before a bowel movement, but not only that (I’m sorry. TMI here) but specifically a diarrhea episode and with an added sharp pang. I went to the toilet and pretty much nothing came out. Fast forward another 10 minutes I get the same cramp again. Same story. When it happened again a third time, I sat there until I could be positive nothing needed to come out of my bowels. Well, it did. After much bearing down, I was able to empty my bowels and I’ll spare the details.

Maybe a half hour after this lovely trip to the toilet, I suddenly had bad cramps and pangs that I could almost localize to just my uterus/cervix. They kind of faded away in strength, but being paranoid, I decided to check my strings. For the first time. Because I didn’t check them before. WHY didn’t I, then I’d know normal from not. Argh!

Good news, IUD is still in there. Strings seem super low, but I honestly don’t know if they were like that before, if my cycle is wack, or if the IUD is misplaced.

So, yesterday I still had these kind of semi-localized cramps unlike what I’ve experienced before on periods or even on insertion.

And today, same kind of achey, pang-y cramps but with the added bonus of feeling like I have to poop. All day.

Other than brown discharge which who freaking knows is normal because that’s a whole other period saga, I’m not bleeding and I have no idea if my cycle is going to start on time? If it’s next week it’d be a glorious relief even if early? I have a string check in two weeks, but I don’t know if this is normal? They say to call about “severe cramps” or doubling over in pain. That’s not this, but it’s not pleasant.

I guess I’m just worried because

TLDR everything was going swell for 2 weeks, I had to poop and now I have bad cramps. Help?
