The purpose of this study is to determine EFP awareness and participation among high school and college graduates. This research used the survey method to analyse students' awareness and participation in the EFP in their high schools and colleges. The same method was used to analyse students' perceptions of the EFP and the culture of peace among the students. The results indicated very low awareness and participation of students in the EFP. Regarding the student's perception of EFP and the culture of peace among the students, the results indicated that there is insufficient implementation of EFP in high schools and colleges in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This indicates that with an introduction of the EFP in the schools, curricula, seminars, programmes, and textbooks the culture of peace would increase among the students, which is one of the main assumptions of this study. These findings led to our main recommendation that an introduction of EFP in high schools and colleges and active involvement of students through the learning process may lead to greater multicultural understanding within the culture of peace, tolerance, and understanding in Bosnian multicultural society.

However, she as a female writer rose above her colleagues in her style and attitudes towards novel writing. The central themes in her novels were the conflict between social and individual fulfillment, repressed sexuality, and the manners of old families and the new elite, who had made their fortunes in more recent years. The contradictions in the upper class society were yet another theme that intrigued Wharton. The question of what is moral to one part of the society did not necessarily mean that it is moral for the other part of the society. Some people could at that time escape without any hidden or open punishment from the rest of the society if they were enough skillful and clever. On the other hand, for some people it was difficult to avoid pressure from the society and behave according what their mind and heart were telling them. This paper in particular deals with the Wharton"s biographical background with the special attention to her family and life experience and how it influence and shaped her style of writing. The paper also deals with material and graphic details in her novels and the reasons behind usage of those graphic details. Wharton"s novel The Age of Innocence is still one of the most read novels and is required reading in High Schools and at the Universities. The final part of the paper deals with the abovementioned novel that influenced and shaped the writings of the generations of writers after her death.

Many researchers have been writing on language learning strategies use in language acquisition (O’Malley and Chamot, 1990; Oxford 1990; Wenden and Rubin 1987). In these studies it has been found that effective learning strategies might contribute to successful language learning. Rubin (1975) and Stern (1977) were concerned about good language learner, and in their studies show that good language learner employ certain language learning strategies in the language learning process. This paper explores Language Learning Strategies used by IUS students when learning English language. The paper will also investigate the relationship between strategy use and proficiency in English between the students of different ethnic background. The gender differences will be look at as well to see if there are any differences in strategy use between male and female students at IUS. Oxford (1990) Strategy Inventory for Language learning (SILL) will be administered to measure learning strategy preferences and proficiency in English language will be based on results on Proficiency English Test. A multiple regression analysis will be conducted to examine relationship among six types of learning strategies and scores on Proficiency Exam Test. The t-test will be employed in order to determine differences between male and female students in strategy use.

I... more Towards the end of 1960s there was a huge hippie movement which was marked as Turbulent Decade. In Britain the labor party gained power in 1964, in France the protests in 1968 forced President Charles de Gaulle to leave the country. For some people in Europe, May 1968 meant the end of traditional collective action and the beginning of a new era to be dominated mainly by different social movement emerging at that time throughout the world (Brinkley, 1997; Erlanger, 2008). Harold Pinter's The Caretaker (1960) and Martin Amis' Money: The Suicide Note (1984) are embedded with violence and mistreatement among the main characters. With an attempt to reflect social dimensions of the society of that time, both novels deal with violence between very close people who have family or very close friendship ties. The Cartaker is the play in which people are portrayed as living on the edge, and are ready to accept any possibility presented in order to fulfill their individual psychological needs. The Money is a novel about John Self, a film director, a man who makes deals, spends a lot of money, abuses alcohol, tobacco, pills, pornography, and as a result he is portrayed as extremely violent. This paper attempts to analyze the question of violence that is presented and described in these two works. More importantly, this paper uses socio-psychological approaches and the historical context in analyzing violence in these two works. An analysis of absurd and satirist worlds presented by Pinter and Amis is especially valuable because of their relevance for describing and tackling present-day violence in our societies.

Numerous seminars, diverse courses, various trainings, and everlasting efforts. All of them serve the same purpose: our mental and intellectual improvement. When one examines those attempts closely, foreign language education will be one of some others in the foreground. Nowadays, people have the urge to acquire at least one foreign language and consider it as a must for educational and business purposes since it brings a large number of profits. Engaging with people from different countries and cultures and carrying your business to a more global and international environment are a few examples of benefits of L2 education. Likewise, attaining higher education abroad would give any learner a new perspective and a more widened horizon because, as Federico Fellini says, "a different language is a different vision of life." However, there are even more significant benefits of L2 education apart from these. In fact, learning a second language helps to improve cognitive skills such as intelligence and memory, while diminishing risks of developing brain-related diseases such as dementia and Alzheimer's.

Grammar also facilitates the transfer of thoughts and ideas to the other people. Thus, the researchers and language theorists have different views on the importance of teaching grammar to language learners. On one hand, some researchers argue for teaching structural grammar, while the others argue for the communicative teaching approach. In order to test the main research questions this research was based on adopted questionnaire that was distributed to undergraduate students at the International University of Sarajevo. The questionnaire entitled “Student’s perceptions of grammar learning,” determined student’s perceptions, ideas, methods and experiences in learning grammar. This research also analyzed how students acquired grammar by examining their definitions of grammar, importance of grammar, need of grammar learning, grammar learning techniques and meth...

One way is to empower and equip our brightest students to value their own imaginative potential and take greater responsibility for their own outcomes. Demystifying the Thesis (DTT) is a strategic framework that provides research students with the knowledge and skills to take charge of their own researcher development. Students from more than a third of all Australian universities have taken part in DDT programs—and customised versions of the programs have been run for students and staff from more than thirty universities in Latin America, Oman, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Nepal, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and East Timor. Evaluation and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and confirms the profound impact DTT is having on researcher development, supervisory practice and institutional capacity-building. In recognition of its contribution, in 2004 DDT was awarded the Victoria U...
