Most of the image acquisition algorithms neglect the illumination problem like shadows and direct... more Most of the image acquisition algorithms neglect the illumination problem like shadows and direction of illumination changes as well the image degradation caused by motion blur, noise introduction in several intermediate process. This paper presents a novel method of high resolution image generation by interpolating local gradient field and subsequent training of LR cluster patches by fuzzy learning. The query image, after several iterative resolution steps with help of fuzzy clustering, a penalty approach is associated as if a feedback path to eliminate the overestimation of HR pixels. A sparse monitoring for removing aliasing of samples is formulated to remove the gradual noising of pixels.

Leakage inductance of each winding of transformer is used as priori parameter for monitoring tran... more Leakage inductance of each winding of transformer is used as priori parameter for monitoring transformer state windings. It enables protection to act rapidly and reliably and implement ideas different from differential protection. Owing to the absence of accurate measurement method for transformer winding parameters and online detection of leakage inductances, a novel method for identifying the leakage inductance using Markov Linear Unbiased Estimator is presented in this paper based on the electromagnetic circuit equation. The calculation results are buttressed by the test results carried out with the transformer under load which are found to be consistent with the theoretical values of inductance parameters in actual transformer winding model, indicating the high accuracy and independence of load fluctuation of parameter identification. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm for leakage inductance estimation is thereby verified and can be used to on-line monitor the state of transformer winding.

The study presented here targets the development of a low power hearing aid that helps an individ... more The study presented here targets the development of a low power hearing aid that helps an individual, with conductive type of deafness, to hear naturally, clearly and intelligibly. It uses a piezoelectric actuator that helps in direct oscillation of the stapes with the arrival of sound wave resulting in sound demonstration much superior to that of conventional hearing aid. The hydraulic amplification of the piezoelectric device generates sufficient stapes displacement and an ICP sensor detects corresponding sound pressure level. Additionally, in order to avoid the unwanted interference of the incoming sound frequency with the vibrating frequency of the piezoelectric element, the later is kept within acceptable limits by resonant frequency bandwidth control technique. Owing to its micro power consumption, the proposed design undoubtedly has the potential to replace the battery powered conventional hearing aids, thereby diminishing the recurring losses and making the system cost-effective.

As the power required to run micro-electronics circuitry is decreasing these days, an untiring at... more As the power required to run micro-electronics circuitry is decreasing these days, an untiring attempt of the contemporary researchers has been to find new energy sources that may have the potential to replace the battery usage in wearable subsystems. In this spirit, this paper examines an unobtrusive piezoelectric device that can be integrated within human shoe-sole, thereby converting a part of the mechanical energy originated from human locomotion into electrical energy for running such low power portable devices and wireless sensors, without affecting user's gait. To serve the desired purpose, a PZT bimorph and a flexible PVDF stave have been used to harness the heel strike energy and sole bending energy respectively. The proposed system is mathematically modeled and also simulated in COMSOL environment and the results are compared with the experimental values. The power output was found to be much lower than the desired one and hence an attempt was made for the enhancement of charge accumulation by parasitic harvesting technique using soft sneakers and an innovative charge extraction circuitry. This provided a considerable amount of power gain, sufficient to run a low-power electronics device.

A hybrid system is described that combines the features of two solar technologies – photo-voltaic... more A hybrid system is described that combines the features of two solar technologies – photo-voltaic conversion to electricity (PV) and thermal conversion to heat and finally to electric energy for battery usage. Under the condition of the same output power of photovoltaic system, using low cost superiority of the high concentrator material in place of the expensive solar cell we reduced the comprehensive cost of the photovoltaic system and realized the high effective and the efficient unification of the focusing photovoltaic system. In this paper, problems of solar energy tracking by solar cells is analysed and an alternate method is analysed of focusing the light rays through a concentrator for tracking maximum power. The technical approach uses a convex lens mounted on a cyclic parabolloid to reflect and concentrate sun’s radiations at the focus and this acts as the point of maximum power tracking. A thermo electric generator (TEF) is also used to convert the heat generated at the focus into usable electric energy.

The financial impacts are reduced income from the sale of electricity and the necessity to charge more to the electricity consumers. The weighted average system loss in the power sector in totality is estimated at 35% which includes 21% technical loss highly affecting the system efficiencies. As the orthodox preventive measures of power theft are getting rendered futile, we propose a plausible approach to prevent this transgression and revamp the system efficiency to an appreciable value.
