The 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and the UK was marked with some festivities.

It was a joint performance featuring the ‘Salamanca Band and Bugles of the Rifles’of the Defence Ministry of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, the British Army trumpeters, the honor guard drill team of the Armenian Armed Forces and the military band of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces.

The event was organized by the Armenian and UK Defense Ministries.

According to Judith Farnworth, the UK Ambassador to Armenia, the United Kingdom has developed strong cooperation with Armenia in the political, economic, commercial, cultural and many other spheres over the past 25 years: “We are going to further intensify and strengthen those relations to the benefit of Armenia and the UK.”

Karen Nazaryan, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, pointed out in this regard: “It’s no coincidence that this important occasion is marked exactly by a cultural event. The fact that cultural days are held in Armenia and in the UK proves that we have a common system of values and mutual interests. It can be said with confidence that our countries are successfully cooperating both in the bilateral and multilateral formats.”
