02:07 am - evilleprechaun - sometimes I want to punch..... Ok. I've been trying to learn java. Not the easy task when you're learning from online documentation ;-) Needless to say, I've hit some barriers here. I've stumbled across this "Swing" stuff and it looks psychotically cool. So I figure, hey, I'll try to learn it. Make my programs better, perchance. Well, I can view the applets with my browsers as long as I view them from the java.sun.com websites. However, I can't for the life of me figure out how to get them to run if I compile them. I've looked around on the websites for hours, and I keep running around in circles finding the same information. The strangest part is, I don't even have the file they tell me I need to view Swing applets! (swing.jar is what they tell me, and it's nowhere on my computer) I've got the new SDK version -- 1.4.01 I think.... something like that -- so it shouldn't be that much of a problem there. Can anyone shed some light on this subject? Much obliged.
