getting hardware info in java (original) (raw)

Can anyone point me to some info on how to get at things like pentium CPUID, MAC address, or other hardware idendification in java (I know some of this may be OS specific, but that's ok with me - any help would help)? I've been searching around on java.sun.com, and google, but to no avail - my search engine skeeelz are w34k. :(
