Confronting a Sith (by non violent means)
By: Tel Shrio Thurst

The best way to confront a Sith by non violent means (whatever that’s supposed to mean) would be to psychoanalyze it. First and foremost I would ask the said Sith her middle name. Middle names are very important, they tell a lot about the person they belong to. For example, someone might say: “My middle name is trouble” to which you immediately know that this person causes a lot of trouble to family, friends and others. Or someone might reply: “My middle name is danger” this could represent one of two possibilities, either the person is very powerful and is dangerous to the people around her or that the person is very accident prone and is frequently getting into a lot of dangerous situations.

Upon obtaining the said Sith’s middle name I would continue talking to her from a safe distance. I would ask the Sith what it was exactly that made it turn to the ways of darkness. Was it a greed or lust for money and power? Was she pressured by family or friends around her? Was it because of the super-cool attacks they use like throwing lightening at their opponents? Or was it simply because of her own insecurities?

By this time, if everything above has been completed correctly, the Sith is crying like a baby over her own shortcomings and new found realizations, finally having her history dragged kicking and screaming into the light. I allow them to do so for some minutes until I can feel a headache beginning to form. This is the cue to continue on with the procedure. I tell the Sith how I can relate to what she’s talking about, I think the lightning effect is very cool too, but is it really worth betraying the vast majority of the universe just to learn a few snazzy attacks? If the Sith learns the error of her ways at this point, that’s always good. However I would suspect no matter how much honey I smother onto these points most Sith won’t come down so easily. There are two roads I could take from here.

The first is the most obvious. I could do that super-cool Jedi move I heard of once where the Jedi can lock their opponents powers into submission so that they can no longer use them. Ever. This attack would be very effective but would still have a few drawbacks. One being that the ancient art has been lost to time, bummer. The other is that this will likely produce the most unfavorable outcome of more lawyers plaguing the galaxy as I cannot for see what other line of work an ex-Sith could get into.

The second option, the better of the two in my opinion as Jedi strive to rid the galaxy of scum bags, not add to them, is to challenge the opposing Sith to a battle. Not a violent one, no lightsabers, blasters, or kung fu involved. Rather a battle of the wits. A mind battle taking place in the cortex of the brain. There, I could attempt to break down the other’s mental defenses, wear away at her to the point of exhaustion until one or both of us are fought into unconsciousness. This way, assuming I’d won, I could easily apprehend the Sith and take her to the nearest temple for the Masters, much more experienced than a humble Jedi Student like myself, to deem what should be done with her.
