Appropriate dividend distribution policy can not only set a good corporate image, but also to bui... more Appropriate dividend distribution policy can not only set a good corporate image, but also to build the confidence of investors in the company's future prospects, thus creating a good corporate financing environment, the company long-term stable development. This paper is an attempt to analysis the impact of dividend payout on share price volatility. Here 15 listed hotel and travel companies are selected for this research on random sampling method. SPSS 16 used for analysis. Analyzed results revealed Dividend payout, Net assets per share and Earning per share statistically significantly predict the Share price Volatility, F (3, 126) = 14.613, p < .05. This results shows that Dividend payout has significant positive impact on share price changes p<0.01 and 25.8% of variability of share price explain by Dividend payout.further correlation analysis resuls revealed that there is positive significant relationship between dividend payout and share price volatility. Objective of the study is examining the impact of demographic variable on individual investor’s d... more Objective of the study is examining the impact of demographic variable on individual investor’s decision making. The 47 GN divisions located in Jaffna municipal council. Out of these 47 GN divisions, 20 divisions were selected on the basis of their census of population. 100 questionnaires collected for this study purpose. According to the Analysis researchers can conclude that respective R 2 value of 0.630 denotes that 63% of the observed variability in investment decision can be explained by the difference in variables namely gender, educational level, age, marital status and monthly income. Based on Pearson correlation analysis researchers found that demographic factors like age, marital status and monthly income have significant relationship with investment decision while some demographic factors like gender and educational level have no significant relationship with decision making. It is in the light of this that dividend decision ought to be evaluated with the aim of maximizin... more It is in the light of this that dividend decision ought to be evaluated with the aim of maximizing the value of the firm to its shareholders through market price of the shares and the current dividend. Shareholders' wealth is represented in the market price of the company's common stock, which, in turn, is the function of the company's investment, financing and dividend decision. The study is an attempt to study dividend policy and market value of listed manufacturing companies. For the study purpose nineteen companies eight years data are drawn. Analysed results explores that dividend policy of the companies does not influence on market value and at the same time market value also does not granger cause dividend policy. Therefore the study consist with Irrelevance theory.
