Game playing programs are often described as being a combination of search and knowledge. The board games are very popular. Board games provide dynamic environments that make them ideal area of computational intelligence theories. Othello is 8 × 8 board game and it has very huge state space as 3 64 ≈ 10 28 total states. It is implemented by game search tree like Mini-max algorithm, alpha-beta pruning. But it required more storage memory and more time to compute best move among all valid moves. Evolutionary algorithms such as Genetic algorithm are applied to the game playing because of the very large state space of the problem. Game search tree algorithm like alphabeta pruning is used to build efficient computer player program. This paper mainly highlights on hybrid approach which is combination of Genetic algorithm and alpha-beta pruning. Genetic algorithm is applied to optimize search space of Othello game and building Ge...

Ongoing improvements in affordable and efficient integrated electronic devices have put a great impact in the advancement of wireless sensor networks, which has enabled this field for a broad range of applications in battlefield surveillance, environment monitoring, industrial diagnostics, healthcare etc. Coverage which is one of the most important performance metrics for sensor networks resonates how accurately a sensor field is monitored. The coverage concept for a sensor field is accountable to a wide range of apprehensions due to a diversity of sensors and applications. Due to constrained resources for a sensor node it is valuable to construct a fully covered and energy efficient sensor network for real world applications. There are different conceptions that have been proposed based on the coverage type, deployment mechanism as well as network properties. This paper surveys research progress m...

The sensing field may have randomly distributed sensors that can provide a cover to a single point by multiple numbers of sensors resulting into a k-coverage scenario where k is the constant number of sensors available to cover any single point on the field. In real environment we have obstacles that hinders path and obstruct line of sight. Obstacles can be simulated as geometrical shapes say line segment causing absolute opaqueness to the line of sight and blockage of path. In this paper we have proposed an approach of computing a k-covered Best coverage path between a pair of location on a two dimensional field in presence of line segment obstacles. An algorithm is proposed to find a path covered by a constant number of sensors in polynomial time. Then a java application based on proposed algorithm has been designed and some observations are being made.

Research paper thumbnail of A simulation based study to identify optimal number of controllers for multi-application scenarios in Software Defined Wireless Sensor Network (SDWSN)

SDN has shown its positive impact on various types of networks and the use of SDN in MEMS (Microelectronic Mechanicals Systems) based network also known as Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), helps to alleviate WSN challenges such as less power consumption and better throughput. So far, study on optimal number of controllers and their impact on network parameters remain untouched. In this paper, we follow a simulation-based approach to identify the optimal number of SDN controllers required to manage nodes in WSN. We consider a network of nodes as well as a WSN sink and randomly assign multiple nodes with SDN functionality. We varied the number of controllers and their location for multi-application scenarios. Results show that a) The optimal number of controllers are dependent on the number of applications and nature of application assigned to WSN, b) Presence of SDN controllers increases network lifetime in terms of the amount of residual energy left on the nodes, and c) Selecting appropriate path and assigning routes to WSN nodes by SDN controller increases the overall application throughput.
