DC to DC converters are the electronic devices used to step up or step down the DC voltage level,... more DC to DC converters are the electronic devices used to step up or step down the DC voltage level, whenever the equipment fails to operate at maximum efficiency. If a electrical device as a power factor less than one, that means more input current must be supplied for a given output power dissipation and more powerful source is required to deliver the required output power. The main objective of this project is to improvement of power factor of the system by using MSEPIC converter and also the theoretical and experimental (simulation) results with the MSEPIC converter are comparing with the classical boost converter topology by using MATLAB software.

It is well known that multipath error is one of the major error sources affecting the positional ... more It is well known that multipath error is one of the major error sources affecting the positional accuracy of Global Positioning System (GPS). Although the multipath effect can be reduced by choosing sites without multipath reflectors or using proper antennas to mitigate the reflected signal, it is difficult to eliminate all multipath effects from GPS observations. Here, a technique based on vertical ground planes to effectively reduce the multipath occurring at ±5° of the horizon is presented.
The present research work is to determine the buckling load in FRP(fibre reinforced plastic) thin... more The present research work is to determine the buckling load in FRP(fibre reinforced plastic) thin cylinder, which is subjected to uniaxial compression using 2-D finite element analysis. The commercial finite element analysis software ANSYS has been successfully executed and the finite element model is validated. The buckling load is evaluated by varying the boundary conditions, length to diameter ratio (L/d), thickness to diameter ratio (h/d) and number of layers (n). The effect of boundary conditions, (L/d), (h/d), (n) on the buckling load is discussed. The results show that buckling load is more in clamped-clamped boundary condition, decreases with increase in length to diameter ratio, increases with increase in thickness to diameter ratio and remains constant with number of layers.

57Fe Mössbauer studies were carried out on the Dy0.73Tb0.27Fe2-xNix and Ho0.85Tb0.15Fe2-yNiy syst... more 57Fe Mössbauer studies were carried out on the Dy0.73Tb0.27Fe2-xNix and Ho0.85Tb0.15Fe2-yNiy systems (x=y=0, 0.5,1.0,1.5). The spectra were recorded in the temperature range 18-675 K. The variation of hyperfine field at 18 K with Ni concentration showed a maximum at x=0.5 as well as y=0.5 which has been attributed to the narrowing of the 3d bands by the substitution of Ni.

The discovery of synthetic pyrethroids with increased insecticidal activity and low mammalian tox... more The discovery of synthetic pyrethroids with increased insecticidal activity and low mammalian toxicity led to abundance of new synthetic results in the chemistry of pyrethroids . Many of these methods adopted on an industrial scale make use of sigmatropic rearrangement, radical addition and nucleophilic ring closer with carbanions. Herein we report a simple and stereospecific route for the synthesis of ethyl trans-chrysanthernate (1) by utilizing carbonyl stabilized sulphuranes. Although the use of Sulphurane was demonstrated at a much earlier stage for the synthesis of methyl trans-chrysanthe-mate, the present approach makes use of simple reagents and offers some operational advantages.

ABSTRACT This paper investigates the development of a concave lens integration concept in a conic... more ABSTRACT This paper investigates the development of a concave lens integration concept in a conical horn antenna, and its considerate use in the Received Signal Strength (RSS) enhancement of outdoor based (60 GHz) mm mesh networks. A conical horn antenna is developed in High Frequency Structural Simulator (HFSS) with a gain of 12 dB and Half Power Beam Width (HPBW) of 10° to model the RSS in a street. Ray tracing based model shows that there are only limited paths which are significant for a highly directional link under consideration. The results obtained are modeled in matlab software. Further, when a concave lens is integrated into the same horn antenna an increase of 5 dB in gain is obtained there by increasing the efficiency. With the incorporation of concave lens, gain has increased resulting in a better RSS of mm wave links at similar transmitted power. An analogous street model is developed in Wireless Insite (WI) with similar concave lens antenna dimensions, gain and transmitted power. The simulated result also shows an increment in RSS whose values are comparable with modeled matlab values. The analysis of this approach can be an alternative to the concept of multiple antenna technique and also the energy efficient antenna for WPAN applications.

Computational load balancing plays a prominent role on the success of domain decomposition based ... more Computational load balancing plays a prominent role on the success of domain decomposition based finite element computations on parallel computers. Computational load balancing is achieved through mesh partitioning. In this paper, a mesh-partitioning algorithm is proposed for generating sub-meshes with optimal shape using a steady state elite preserving evolutionary algorithm (EA). Numerical experiments have been conducted by solving several practical engineering problems. Comparisons have also been made with its multi-level counter part by solving several benchmark problems. Numerical studies indicate that performance of the proposed mesh-partitioning algorithm is either comparable or superior to the multi-level algorithm.

In this article, a new algorithm for solving multi-objective optimization problems is proposed by... more In this article, a new algorithm for solving multi-objective optimization problems is proposed by extending the single objective scatter search template to deal with multiple objectives. The features like Pareto dominance, density estimation, and an external archive to store the nondominated solutions are added. The traditional solution combination of scatter search template is however replaced with two-point crossover operator being used in evolutionary algorithms in order to improve the convergence characteristics of the proposed scatter search algorithm. The resulting hybrid scatter search algorithm is employed to solve stacking sequence optimization of hybrid fiber-reinforced composite plate, cylindrical shell, and pressure vessel. Performance metrics are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm over other popular evolutionary algorithms like NSAGA-II, PAES, Micro-GA, and MOPSO.
