will need to change the way they live and work together to solve complex green
problems. The aim of this study was to show how important it is for the
teaching and learning activities in higher education institutions (HEIs) to focus
on green teamwork, green creativity and eco-innovation. This is important to
prepare and encourage students and graduates to: 1) work in green teams;
2) use green creativity, eco-innovation and prototyping to find green solutions.
The study took the form of a small-group project carried out by 46 master’s
students at a German HEI. The instruction was that each team had to focus
specifically on green issues in the project. They had to select their own green
problem using green creativity and solve it using eco-innovation and
prototyping. A survey was administered to gather the students’ views about
green teamwork and their overall view of the project, instructions and
suggested templates. The findings indicated that HEIs play an important role in
green creativity, green prototyping and eco-innovation.

This chapter extends the frontier of knowledge on the benefits of developing multicultural orientations in line with business and stakeholders' needs in the global economy. A brief literature review was conducted on multicultural orientations and global leadership effectiveness in the 21st century. It was found that multicultural learning experiences and communication skills, deep self-awareness, multiple intelligences and sensitivity to cultural diversity, humility, cautious honesty, global strategic thinking and good negotiating skills are necessary in the 21st century. The managerial relevance of this chapter centres on further research and development of global psychological capital, vertical development of bigger minds and multiple intelligences to navigate in the midst of volatilities, uncertainties, complexities and ambiguities in the 21st century.

The Lean SPRInT aids managers with Lean implementation by assessing their hospitals' readiness status for Lean to improve operational efficiency. An observational descriptive study employing quantitative methods was conducted across 73 public hospitals in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN). Simple random sampling was used to attain a minimum sample size of 218 senior managers who completed semi-structured questionnaires. Exploratory Factor Analysis was used to identify latent constructs. Confirmatory Factor Analysis was used to determine the reliability and validity of factors. Structural Equation Modelling assessed the acceptability of the model. The participant response rate was 96.8% (n=211). Three Critical Success Factors (strategic leadership and organisational attitude; integration of Lean elements, tools and techniques; and basic stability in operational processes), from which the electronic Lean SPRInT was developed, were derived after several iterations of Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). All reliability and validity conditions have been met, thus rendering the model reliable and valid Lean SPRInT is a management tool for assessing hospitals' readiness status for Lean. A six-step process for the deployment of Lean SPRInT is proposed. A phasic approach for Lean implementation, together with close monitoring using the HLA tool is recommended. Unified efforts and decentralised decision-making are more likely to lead to effective implementation.

Historical creativity approaches, dimensions, models and tests were researched through a literature study in order to identify selected constructs that influence creativity of young adults. Resultantly, a total of twentyeight creativity influences were identified which ultimately culminated in the selection of nine key influences. Additionally, from the literature study, measuring criteria were identified for each of the nine influences, resulting is a theoretical model to measure creativity. The research is of value due to the significant role young adults play and will play in society at a socioeconomic level. Young adults need to know the value of creativity in society, how creative they are and how they can develop creative abilities. In this context, it is necessary to measure creativity in an effort to actively support creative development in young adults. Measuring creativity at this level has been challenging due to the impact of various cognitive psychological factors and the external environment which can foster or inhibit creativity dramatically.

A literature review approach was conducted on the link between collective creativity, innovation, and sustainable business practices. It was found that collective green creativity and eco-innovation can create sustainable business practices. The process starts with the creative individual which needs creative thinking skills, creative motivation, green mindfulness and green self-efficacy. A creative collective is then created using their creative intelligence and creative exchange to create a shared green vision. The creative collective requires green transformational leadership with access to green dynamic capabilities and resources to be effective in the business environment. This creative collective follows the six-step creative problem-solving process which enables the collective to create eco-innovation using an additional four steps. The end result is novel and sustainable business practices and solutions.

Design/methodology/ approach-Adopting primary and secondary sources of data, the article examined the influence of teaching and learning methods on perceived desirability for entrepreneurship. A total of 701 questionnaires were administered, of which 664 questionnaires were validly retrieved through combining stratified and systematic sampling techniques. The investigation yielded 94% response rate from the population groups of lecturers, postgraduate and final year students of three selected universities in Southwest Nigeria. Inferential statistics including Pearson's correlation, t-tests, and chi-square at p-value (0.05) level of significance were employed for the statistical analyses. Findings-The university-level entrepreneurship training demands cognitive and non-cognitive activities as the minimum benchmark for learning entrepreneurship. The operating curriculum predominately remains academics while performance assessments are written examinations which are mark driven. A significant positive correlation was established between the use of more theoretical learning patterns and the mind-sets for remunerative employment, as opposed desirability for entrepreneurship. Research limitations/implication-The content of information in this study limits the results of the research to the studied participants, which also limits the reach of the study to the three universities, where the study was conducted. Originality/ value-The value is a guiding framework that promotes paradigm shift from perspective highly curriculum content-based approach to a more inclusive outcome-based model, that is more of collaboration, partnership and engagement with key stakeholders in entrepreneurial development.

The old ways of looking for solutions to social problems like unemployment, climate change, an ageing population, poverty, supply of clean water, chronic disease and so on, do not offer sustainable solutions and global implementation. Societies can also no longer hold governments responsible to find solutions to all these social problems only. Social innovation is needed and seeks new answers to social problems by identifying and delivering new services that improve the quality of life of individuals and communities. The main aim of this chapter is to create awareness of social innovation as an emerging field. This chapter explain what social creativity and innovation are and explains the creative and innovative processes. Barriers and support for social innovation are also discussed.

Although, empirical studies have established the module as teachable and learnable, the impact remains significantly weak in Nigeria because of the teaching and learning pedagogy operating in most universities is substantially theoretical and centralised exposure. This article was aimed at establishing the variation between individual disciplines, modes of learning and intentions for business start-up. Five hundred and ten questionnaires were administered through stratified and systematic sampling techniques on undergraduates and postgraduate students of three universities in Southwest Nigeria. Inferential statistics including Pearson's correlation, t-tests, and chi-square at 0.05 p-value level of significance were employed for the statistical analysis. Significant differences in entrepreneurial orientation were found among school faculties and disciplines. It is concluded that education groups have potential influence on students' intentions and mind-sets for future entrepreneurial ventures. A cross-disciplinary learning model that is decentralised is recommended to bridge the dichotomy in the schools' curriculum, enhance distribution of hands-on activities, and cater for individual variations, preference and learning abilities. The new framework would comprise interdisciplinary mentoring, coaching, networking, attachment and students' exchange programmes.

The objective of this article was to develop and assess a tool to measure the creativity of university students. In doing so, a literature study of creativity was embarked upon to identify the underlying variables used to measure creativity. The identified variables were then subjected to a factor analysis process and the reliability of the data tested. Empirical data was collected from 500 full-time students randomly selected (with a response of 322). The results showed that at least twelve factors need to be considered in measuring creativity, namely: Challenging the status quo, Detachment, Synthesis, Cognition, Associate and Communicate, Awareness, Similarity, External motivation, Sensitivity, Experiment and Combine, Dimensional Thinking and Problem-solving. These factors show inherent communal properties (correlating positively with existing theory), and could be grouped into three main categories, namely: cognitive psychology, external influences and personality characteristics. Regarding reliability, acceptable Cronbach Alpha coefficients were calculated, exceeding the minimum coefficient of 0.70. The article highlights the value of creative graduates and the factors that could be utilised to measure their creativity in a South African tertiary education context.

The main objective of the study was to determine whether T&D influences employees' commitment to the organization and the intention to stay or to leave the organization. Using a survey questionnaire and personal interview, data was collected from 297 civil servants and 8 departmental heads in Nigeria. Statistical analytical methods such as regression analysis were used to test the two hypotheses formulated, which were focused on determining the relationship between T&D and turnover intention; as well as T&D and the perceived impacts on employees' commitment. The result suggests a positive correlation between T&D and organizational commitment and turnover intention. The result implies that investing in human capital is a critical strategic initiative for contemporary organizations because the ability of any organization to compete successfully is a function of the ability to retain their skilful and committed employees. The study contributes to knowledge in the field, as not much research has been done on the effects of T&D on public servants in Nigeria. Most of the studies have been carried out in Europe, America, Asia and largely in the manufacturing and service sectors.

Although it might be assumed that technopreneurial attitude leads to technopreneurial behaviour, this is not always the case. The paper is based on research conducted on technopreneurship as an attitude in the Zimbabwean food-processing sector. The objectives of the study were to determine the attitude of food processors towards technopreneurship, the feasibility of technopreneurship in light of the attitude and the relationship between professional specialisation and technopreneurial attitude, as well as professional specialisation and the feasibility of technopreneurship. The research adopted a survey approach to gather, analyse and interpret quantitative data. The results indicated that companies in the food-processing sector have a positive attitude towards technopreneurship and the feasibility of technopreneurship in the sector. However, it was concluded that the positive attitude does not automatically lead to technopreneurial behaviour because of intervening variable.
