Hello all!Activity's been a bit lacking in my LJ community, jrock_events_us, lately. So I was hoping to recruit some new members jrock_events_us is an LJ community that's currently focusing on trying to bring JRock fans like us together for events in hopes of attracting more and more people, and eventually attracting even more bands to local (or at least, closer) venues/events. I know that a lot was accomplished last year, but that's no excuse to stop working our damnedest to make it all even better! jrock_events_us also serves as a way to spread the word when a band is planning to tour, perform, or make an appearance in the US. Please join us to help spread the JRock love even more!I hope this is allowed here! If not, go ahead and delete it. ^^;x-posted....

Sorry I didn't announce this any sooner... been a bit busy with finals and things.I heard an overwhelming amount of votes for Saturday the 23rd. So that is the date we're gonna plan for!Now for times, what we did last time was we all met there around 12:00 and bummed around until about 5:00 Hopefully that time slot will work for most people. Just try to be there sometime within those five hours, and you can leave whenever of course too. If you can't pick out a group of (mostly) non-asians that look like Jrock fans, we may have some dorky sign or tell-tale outfits on. The place isn't huge so it's not really hard to find each other.Don't know where or what Mitsuwa is? Check out their site! http://www.mitsuwachicago.net/ (select the English option) Its a lot of fun. Market place, food court (DELICIOUS), book store, dollar store, music, videos.... I haven't been there recently so I don't know if they have their arcade games or anime section back up or not... (they were gone last time we went). If anyone knows what is going up in that empty spot and if it's open yet, please let us know!We plan to make a few announcements/advertisements about Japanese music and events that are taking place in the midwest, hold some discussions (Plotting for ACEN! :D), meet a bunch of new people, and of course do a LOT of shopping and picture taking! Good clean fun!!!If anyone has questions or suggestions let us know! This is an event for YOU the midwest Jrock fan!Looking forward to a day of fun! I really want to tell and show others, but I'm not really sure on how to go about it. I mean, sharing with my friends is easy, but what about beyond that?I recently moved from Jersey to Newport, Kentucky. I'm not really familiar with the area or know too many people.
