Their minds are not actually empty but full of ideas which need to be facilitated by the teachers through an active and mental process of development. Students must accommodate the life-long process of learning in which they are taught independence and self-responsibility in learning. The life-long process of learning incorporates "thinking about thinking" skills which involves active control over cognitive processes in learning. Teachers facilitate discovery in the life-long learning process by providing necessary resources and assisting the learners to accommodate new information.
