The purpose of this Dissertation was to examine the impact of financial literacy training on grow... more The purpose of this Dissertation was to examine the impact of financial literacy training on growth of the small business and medium businesses. (Mitchell, 2008, 2011) reveal that individuals with higher financial literacy are better able to manage their money, participate in the stock market and perform better on their portfolio choice; they are likely to accumulate higher amounts of wealth, have better saving skills and avoid high interest payments. However, traders in Konyo-konyo market face a number of challenges including over high indebtedness, high expenditure, erroneous use of credit and poor money management practices, all of which have hampered the productivity and growth of Small and medium enterprises in konyo-konyo market. Small and medium scale enterprises do not maintain proper financial records, at time it is difficult to separation between the finances of the business and the personal finances of the owner. This has led to diminishing their ability to contribute effectively to sustainable growth.
