Decision makers are confronted by choosing the optimal components or products for better service delivery in workplaces design process that affects building efficiency & functionality which in turn affects occupants‟ satisfaction. Therefore, “the Analytical Hierarchy Process” assessment method offers a logical and practical framework to solve this problem by performing two consecutive surveys. The general survey is a quantitative analysis approach aims to collect general views from office buildings‟ occupants to select critical factors and criteria with high mean ranking for the proposed eleven key building control systems, while the AHP survey is a qualitative information approach conducted to prioritize and assign the importance weightings for the perceived criteria in the general survey.

Results generally suggest that the intelligent office building according to Egypt circumstances from the occupants vision and needs is “The use of integrated & managed building systems, communications, access controls and infrastructure to create a building that ensures work efficiency, achieves safety, enhances user comfort, and cost effectiveness whether purely technological or not”. The main contribution of this research is to develop, examine and refine an
analytical conceptual model for prioritizing the key performance indicators, and set their relative importance in order to select the optimal decision in case of comparing between two or more alternative design solutions. It is a better tool for design teams to evaluate proposed systems, factors and criteria.

The implementation of technology in classrooms has caused a significant shift in the education industry. Architects who design for the metaverse have a wide range of skills, including architecture, engineering, real estate, computer science, and game design. To create virtual buildings, they use a variety of technology-first tools and methods, including Building Information Modeling (BIM) and computational design software. The aim of this study is to explore the possibilities of implementing extended reality technology in architectural courses to establish interactive relationships between students of architecture and their academic professors and instructors. It presents a comprehensive literature review that investigates the use of Metaverse in architectural programs. It analyzes and discusses the relevant challenges and opportunities of Metaverse. Finally, the results present recommendations for future frameworks.

It allows for optimized collaboration and engagement between teachers and students in classrooms. Extended Reality is shaping the metaverse of tomorrow, it is a blanket term that refers to a group of technologies; augmented reality, virtual reality, and mixed reality. It is an umbrella term for computer-generated environments that merge the physical and virtual worlds that enables the child to interact with the environment and virtual objects. The research aims to explore the possibility of applying Extended Reality technology to create an immersive classroom environment. Moreover, it discovers the advantages and disadvantages of using these technologies in classrooms for children at elementary schools in Jubail Industrial City. The methodology depended on two approaches; qualitative approach to understand and discover the immersive technology application in the environment. In addition to a quantitative approach by using a questionnaire to collect data from parents and measure their receptivity to utilize XR tools. Results show that 88% of parents believe that having extended reality in learning will increase students’ GPA, especially for students who have difficulties in learning such as speech issues, learning letters, colors, and shapes, telling his/her ideas, being introverted, and learning new skills. However, parents have worried about their children’s health by using Extended Reality technology for long periods.

This study aims to identify the design criteria for furniture and space environment that increases the performance and attitude of students with ADHD “Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder” in the classroom environment. A literature study explains the Technology-Based Learning approach and Immersive technology application in classrooms for ADHD. The study uses qualitative methodology to collect and analyze data about the appropriate materials, colors, textures, and forms used in furniture design for people suffering from hyperactivity and distracted attention. The research method involves a selected sample of four schools in the USA for ADHD students aged from 4 to 12 years. The results ensure that guidelines for ADHD-Friendly classrooms must be consideration during the design phase. Students need soft and flexible materials, light, and natural colors, Warm lighting, and multifunctional furniture to reduce anxiety and enhance their productivity during the day. Moreover, using Extended Reality (XR) Immersive technologies application in classroom design is a promising approach to boost motivation and engage learners for ADHD students in elementary schools.

For more than a decade, sustainability has become a cogent paradigm for the management of natural resources and changing the consumption patterns. Water is one of the key issues of sustainable development goals, it is an irreplaceable resource of human beings, recently the world's supply of clean water is steadily decreased and the demand of water is increased. Therefore, Ensure Environmental Sustainability is one of the Millennium Development Goals which provides a long term roadmap that securing equal access to safe drinking water and sanitation.

As a result, IWMS is applied to change the process from simply supplying water to monitor & manage the water system in buildings efficiently and effectively. It integrates the benefits and best ideas of intelligent and green concepts together in order to long term sustainability. The vision of the IWMS is linking, sensing, monitoring, and controlling all devices in the building. From that, the facility manager accurately can identify the location of problems, do planning & budgeting and establish a preventative maintenance programs to manage the consumption patterns.

For the IWMS, a total of eleven indicators identified from AIIB Index and literature study. These indicators classified into four factor groups including cost effectiveness, work efficiency, user comfort, and technological factors. The study findings emphasize that “Cleanliness” is the most important indicator in the IWMS. This finding is supported by the ServiceMaster Clean's research argue that “Unclean Workplaces increase sick days and lower production” because there is an obvious link between office cleanliness and worker productivity to kill germs and bacteria to fight illness.

It seeks to replicate how humans receive information and employ computer skills to handle enormous amounts of data (Reiners, D., et al., 2021). The use of Extended Reality (XR) technology helps improve students’ performance and the educational experience. According to Wang P. et al., 2024, and Crolla, K. et al., 2024, Extended Reality (XR) technology is defined as computer-generated settings that combine the physical and virtual worlds, enabling students to interact with both the environment and virtual objects (Milgram, P. et al., 1995). The virtual world of Metaverse is a three-dimensional virtual world full of real-life avatars (Guo, X., et al., 2021). Metaverse environments are interactive digital representations in three or four dimensions. Many devices, such as personal computers, PCs, laptops, mobile apps, smart TVs, and VR headsets, can access them. In the future, architectural spaces may also serve as interfaces with panoramic screens or holographic projections (Schumacher, P., 2022). Metaverse can influence future educational trends and drive significant educational transformation (Guo, X., et al., 2021). This study aims to explore the possibilities of implementing extended reality technology in architecture education and determine whether it has caused a substantial shift in teaching and learning methods. It analyzes and discusses the relevant challenges and opportunities of using metaverse-based learning. The methodology depended on two approaches: a qualitative approach to understand and discover the immersive technology application in architecture education. Additionally, a quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a questionnaire to gather data on the adoption and familiarity of extended reality technology in Middle Eastern architecture education. The results show that 35% of architecture students, faculty, and professionals in the Middle East are very familiar with extended reality (XR) technologies. Finally, this study presents recommendations for future frameworks.
