I really need some help with invitations. I would like to do a print your own. I have looked all over and only found 2 that I really like. I want a fairly plain stock, in dark chocolate. I spent this weekend trying to find a send and seal kind of thing, but no luck.... HELP please!!!

My fiancee Lj and I are getting married July 14, 2007. We have reserved our reception hall and DJ. We have bee engaged since July of 2005, and had originally planned on being married last summer, but between $ and a very bad motorcycle accident (LJ) we have decided on this summer. And boy do I have a different perspective on things! When i went dress shopping right after getting engaged, I fell in love with a Maggie Sottero dress Vincenza diamond white and ruby. It was spectacular, but very expensive and a little overdone for where we are now personally:)

So, now here i am. My MOH and one of my bridesmaids went to a bridal show 2 weekends ago, and I FOUND my dress:) I went to try it on last week and knew it was it. It is totally different from my first pick, style and everything.

It will be in ivory with rum pink. My bridesmaids are going to wear alfred angelo as well, style 6323 in espresso. I am hpoing that it will look good on all of my girls, as 2 are full figured. I am going to have my jr bridesmaid wear that dress too:)

I had originally planned on my sister in law to be as my MOH (to the dismay of my little sister, who is all about her, lol), my little sister, my other soon to be sister inlaw, my older sister as bridesmaids and my 2 nieces to be as jr bridesmaids and flower girl. Unfortunately, my plans are a changing:) My older sister may not even be able to make the wedding much less be in it. But life goes on. I have decided not to let any family diva stuff get in the way of my day:)

I am going to do my own flowers (i once upon a time was a floral designer)Handtied bouquets for all, going with roses, just not sure of shades yet. Leaning toward peach & ivory with snaps for accent.

For my table favors, I am making homemade strawberry jam, not quite the right color, but they will look beautiful and yummy! Table decorations are not set yet, probably simple, floating single flowers with candles accented with brown sheer ribbon and whatever accent color i can find close to my rum pink:)

I know that is a lot for a first post, but man I have been busy!

Ok, so, I'm about 5 months out, and I figure it's time for a picture post. (Not dial-up friendly for sure.)

I've narrowed down the choices for the colors I want in our wedding: jewel tones in red and purple hues of the maroon and dark purple variety.

My bridesmaids will be wearing saris, but I am still stuck on choosing the most flattering palette of colors to accent, yet not overpower the dress I will be wearing. (See my dress here and here.) I want my maid of honor to have a sari in a different color.

As for the men, their tuxes will follow suit to whichever color I choose as far as the vests or ties go, etc. (I placed an example of the jacket the groom and groomsmen may possibly be wearing though just for comparison's sake.)

I photoshopped these images just to get an idea.

( Your Opinions Will Help Greatly - Poll InsideCollapse )

And also: what types of flowers would be suitable for a bridal bouquet? My floral knowledge is limited. I would love to have lotus flowers, but I'm sure that wouldn't be possible. Something exotic would be lovely. My bridesmaids will not have bouquets, though. I have another idea for what they will carry.

My thanks in advance!!

Hey everyone! After lurking for a month or so (and getting many great tips!), I figure it's time to introduce myself. I waited until I had a few more basics to report (my planning has been turbocharged--since the FH proposed this Thanksgiving and we're getting married in July 2007!). I think I've done rather well during one month of wedding plan scrambling (and while finishing up my grad school semester).

Complete with photos for your enjoyment :)
