Adequate ANC visits for women are crucial in controlling maternal and infant mortality. Aims To investigate factors associated with ANC visits among women of reproductive age (15-49) in Bangladesh using the Bangladesh Demographic Health Survey 2017–2018 (BDHS) data. Methods This study included 5012 respondents, of whom 2414 women (48.2%) were complete ANC visits and 2598 women (51.8%) were incomplete ANC visits. Quantile regression was used for analysis indicating that the effects of different covariates functioned differently across the utilization of antenatal care visits. The results revealed the women's educational level, birth order number, sex of household head, and wealth index were highly significant on the lower, middle, and higher quantiles of the number of incomplete ANC visits. Besides, in t...

Academics have blamed boys for their outward attitude and misuse of mobile phones and the internet. The study is conducted to investigate the important factors that affect the academic performance of university level students in Bangladesh. And it has also been determined how much higher the risk is due to the low academic performance of males than females. A cross sectional study is conducted among 960 students of 12 top public universities in different locations in Bangladesh. For each university, we have selected an equal number of male and female graduate and postgraduate students only who have passed within recent three years. Here we consider the merit position in graduate and postgraduate label (1-10th place) as a dependent variable and the marital status, parent's educational level, guardian's occupation, households income status (BDT), family status, residential area, background educational result, girlfriend/boyfriend relationship status, career goal, smoking status, involvement of student politics, tuition trend, internet using time, a library using stat us, residential place in the study period, class attendance as the independent variable. Binary logistic regression model, chi-square test and simple descriptive analysis are used for data analysis. The binary logistics model is used to find out the factors for better academic results among male and female students.

The meteorological factors, especially temperature and humidity, are responsible for the spread of COVID-19. This research aims to analyze how temperature and humidity influence the spread of COVID-19 at different quantile levels. This study included 1365380 COVID-19 infected cases during the observation period (March 08, 2020 to August 12, 2021). To describe the spread of COVID-19, we consider the daily number of COVID-19 infected new cases as a response variable in the Negative Binomial regression analysis and the quantile regression analysis. The statistical shreds of evidence have shown that both temperature and humidity are highly significant on the lower and middle quantiles of the daily number of COVID-19 infected people. Besides, in the higher quantiles (for example, 90% quantile), the humidity is highly significant at any significance level, while the effect of temperature is insignificant on the spread of COVID-19.

Temperature and humidity are two essential factors in the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 affect the respiratory system of human. This study aimed to investigate the effects of temperature and humidity on the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 and the Spread Covid-19. The daily number of SARS-CoV-2 infected new cases, and the number of death due to Covid-19 are considered the response variables. Data are collected from March 08, 2020 to January 31, 2021. A flexible regression model under the Generalized Additive Models for Location Scale and Shape framework is used to analyze data. The temperature and humidity have a significant impact on the transmission of SARS-CoV-2. The temperature is highly significant in the number of SARS-CoV-2 infected new cases and number of death due to COVID-19. In contrast, the humidity is significant on the number of SARS-CoV-2 infected new cases, but it is insignificant on the number of death due to COVID-19 at a 5% level of significance. The analysis revealed that both the temperature and humidity inversely affected the daily number of deaths and new cases of COVID-19.
