Kamen Rider Saber: The Phoenix Swordsman and the Book of Ruin (original) (raw)

Kamen Rider Saber: The Phoenix Swordsman and the Book of Ruin (劇場短編 仮面ライダーセイバー[聖刃]不死鳥の剣士と破滅の本, Gekijō-tanpen Kamen Raidā Seibā Fushichou no Kenshi to Hametsu no Hon) is a Japanese superhero film that serves as the Winter Film adaptation of Kamen Rider Saber, double-billed with Kamen Rider Zero-One: REAL×TIME and replacing Mashin Sentai Kiramager: The MovieIcon-crosswiki, that was pushed into the Spring of 2021. In the film, Touma and his allies face off against an immortal swordsman from the past who wishes to bring ruin to the world. The film's post-credit scene features an early-bird appearance from both Master Logos and the Southern Base ahead of their in-series debuts.

Production[]

In October 2020, Kamen Rider Saber: The Movie was announced to premiere double-billed with Kamen Rider Zero-One: The Movie, in lieu of both Mashin Sentai Kiramager: The MovieIcon-crosswiki and a Movie War crossover. In the same month, plot details, production images, and special cast members regarding Kamen Rider Saber: The Movie were revealed. In November, the film's official title was revealed and promoted alongside Zero-One's film in the marketing campaign titled Kamen Rider Splendid Double-Feature (仮面ライダー 超豪華2本立て, Kamen Raidā Chōgōkai ni-hondate).

Ticket pre-sales began on November 8, 2020, with online purchases including digital downloads of episodes of both Zero-One's anime and Saber's anime. Both films premiered side-to-side in Japanese theaters on December 18, 2020.
