district, has been investigated archaeologically by Professor Cevat Başaran since 2005. The surveys
and excavations conducted during this time yielded important information about the settlement
process of the ancient town. The finds from some public buildings and from the southern necropolis
indicate that Parion was settled from the 7th century BC up to the 13th century AD. Parion theater
excavation has begun in 2006. Excavations at Parion Theater’s stage building, fortification wall
located between stage building and orchestra, and seatings had been taken place among 2006-
2017. During the first few years, ceramics from Byzantine era were found in the layers named first
and second. After 2010, Roman ceramics have revealed in theater and they were unearthed in the
layers called third, fourth and fifth. 43 pieces of cooking wares were have been evaluated in this
study. The aim of this paper is to present basic information, typology and chronology of the cooking

The ruins are suggested to belong to the north of the Gökçeseki and Çamlıca villages on the out-skirts of Ermenek. Excavations in the necropolis was ex-posed some sarcophagi with a podium on a stepped plat-form. On the west side of the sarcophagi, an area used as a rubbish dump was uncovered. In this study Eastern Sigil-lata A Ceramics found here are examined. A total of 19 pottery pieces are determined. To the classification of Hayes, Form 22, 36, 50, 51, 61, 105 and types of Late A and B are found in Philadelphia/Imsiören. Two pieces of bases belong to the Hayes Form 3-4 or 28-30. Two other pottery pieces seem to be as new forms. The Hayes Forms 22 and 3-4 or 28-30 are the earliest groups of ESA ceramics from Philadelpheia. These groups date from the late IInd century BC to the first half of the Ist century AD. Hayes Form 105 is dated to the end of the Ist century BC and the beginning of Ist century AD while the piece of Hayes Form 61, and two pieces ---new forms- can be dated to the Early Roman Empire period. Except for these examples the other finds are from the Ist and IInd centuries AD. The ceramics in the area were from the Late Hellenistic Period to the VIInd century AD. Several containers point to the Byzantine Period. ESA vessels show the lower chronology of the area, Late Hellenistic and Early Roman Period. However these finds indicate that İmsiören was inhabited from at least the Late Hellen-istic period and that the economic and social activity increased, particularly during the Ist and IInd centuries AD.

researched since the year 2005. During this research period, surveys and excavations have yielded
important results about the settlement of the city. The fi nds from south necropolis and the public
buildings, it has been understood suggest that Parion was settled from the 7th century BC to
13th century AD. The Roman Bath is another structure where the excavations continued for a
long time and the pottery evaluated in the study was found. The Roman Bath is located in the city
center. The fi rst excavations in the Roman Bath were carried out in 2006. The data obtained from
the bath revealed that the structure was built in the 2nd century AD for the fi rst time. From the
bone fragments with butcher marks and the intensively found oyster shells beside the pottery, it is
understood that, after the loss of the structure’s function, a large part of it was turned into a garbage
dump. The pottery studied within the scope of the article was found in the 2012 excavations. In
addition to the dating of architectural elements in our study, it was aimed to evaluate the imported
pottery found in the bath from typological and chronological aspects. Furthermore, new forms of
Light- Colored pottery will be introduced with this study. 40 pieces of pottery were examined in
the article. These pieces of pottery were divided into groups as Africa (Late Roman A, B), Phokaia
(Late Roman C) and Late Roman Light Colored pottery. Apart from these examples, a juglet was
also evaluated in the study.
Key Words: Parion, Roman Bath, Afrika, Phokaia, Late Roman Ceramics of Light-Colored.
