Dr.C.Gajendran perused hid Ph.D from Anna University, Chennai for his research contributionand findings in “Water Quality Prediction Modelling” and he holds a Masters degree inEnvironmental Engineering(2004) in the same University. He has completed his Bachelors inCivil Engineering(1999) from Madurai Kamaraj University. He also holds a Diploma in RailTransport and Management from Institute of Rail Transport,New Delhi as well as in IndustrialSafety from Annamalai University.Dr.C.Gajendran has 15 years of diversified experience in Academics, as of now serving asAssociate Professor in Department of Civil Engineering at Karunya University, Coimbatore for10 years(since 2007). Apart from this, he also owns a year of Industrial experience as Design andSite Engineer at Rose Engineering firm.He has guided 76 Masters thesis and 156 Bachelors thesis. He is currently working as PrincipleInvestigator on a project titled “GIS-Integrated sub surface mapping and creating a DecisionSupport System”, funded by Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of HumanResources and Development, Government of India and also carried out a research project asPrinciple investigator under the title of “Study on recharge characteristics of tanks in semiarid zone using isotope techniques and conventional hydrological models” which is alsofunded by Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Human Resources andDevelopment, Government of India.His major research contributions include GIS and Remote Sensing, Isotope Hydrology,UrbanDevelopment Study, Transportation and Water Quality Modeling. The quality of groundwater sample collected from 35 representative wells in rural area of Tirunel... more The quality of groundwater sample collected from 35 representative wells in rural area of Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu. A total of 16 physico-chemical characteristics were analysed.
A systematic correlation and regression study showed significant liner relationship among different pairs of groundwater quality parameters. TDS shows good correlation with Magnesium Hardness (0.847), Calcium Hardness (0.929), Chloride Hardness (0.971) and Total Hardness (0.929) but poor correlation with CO3, HCO and DO.
