As a multidisciplinary field neuro-theology combines distinct approaches and theoretical frameworks from Quran, religious studies, philosophy, neuroscience, and cognitive science. The human brain is the great sign among the signs of God that indicates His magnificence. The scientific studies are resplendent with Quranic signs about the realities of human brain. The purpose of this study is to provides a vital link to understand the human brain through Quranic verses and scientific findings. This paper will try to come up with some of the best Quranic testimonials both in Arabic and English translation as a testimony to the fact to prove the correlation between both. The study could be divided into certain sub headings with a conclusion at the end.

He is a novelist, poet, filmmaker and trained musician. Most of his writings revolve around Kashmir, the homeland that he had to migrate from when turmoil struck Kashmir down in 1990s. This paper is an attempt to read and analyze select short stories of Siddhartha for understanding how he attempts a literary representation of the trauma that his displaced community faced as a result of political turbulence in Kashmir. Moreover, the article will focus on how Siddhartha attempts a literary representation of the memory of his homeland through his characters and their long wait for the return to their home (Kashmir). A select body of short stories from his work A Fistful of Earth and other stories would be analyzed for understanding the themes of trauma, memory and longing of homeland.

Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, a prominent freedom fighter and religious scholar from India, was impris... more Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, a prominent freedom fighter and religious scholar from India, was imprisoned by the British colonial administration many times before India gained independence in 1947. Between 1942 and 1945, the British administration incarcerated him at the Ahmadnagar Fort Prison. It was in this prison that the Maulana wrote one of the masterpieces of Urdu literature in the form of a collection of letters which he addressed to one of his closest friends, Nawab Sadr Yar Jung, Maulana Habibur Rahman Shirwani. The letters are Maulana's reflections on a host of issues: his love for tea, his love for solitude, philosophy, religion, aesthetics, ethics, sin, and the concept of God. As a piece of Prison Literature, Ghubar e Khatir could be studied as an extraordinary piece of communication that a confined writer makes with his friend by imagining him in a state of dialogue with him; and, these letters show the imprisoned writer and his resilience to continue to read and write despite his solitary confinement as a human will to survive through writing. In fact, these letters show the capacity of the human mind to create meanings, seek consolations, and heal physical wounds through such a profound engagement with reading and writing. In the present paper, an attempt shall be made to read Maulana's Ghubar e Khatir as a prison narrative, and an attempt shall also be made to see how the world within the writer helps him overcome the pain of solitary confinement.

Keeping this in view, Amitav Ghosh (1956-) is one such prolific contemporary Indian writer, who has demonstrated a keen interest in environmental issues and climate change through his literary works. In addition to providing an elaborated introduction to Environmental Humanities, this paper aims to explore the nuanced manifestations of climate concerns in Ghosh's writing, unraveling the depth of his narratives in depicting the ecological challenges faced by humanity.

While homo sapiens are in the race to occupy the Moon and Mars, it is disheartening to note that ... more While homo sapiens are in the race to occupy the Moon and Mars, it is disheartening to note that they have degraded and destroyed the planet that has been their one and only one habitat for billions of years. The human attitude of subduing and mastering the earth has resulted in a large-scale change in biodiversity and other ecosystem processes. Air pollution, water pollution, uncontrolled deforestation, rampant industrialization, urbanization and bioengineering have destabilized the harmony and balance in the whole ecosystem. Alarm bells have already been tolling in this regard and concerned people have been discussing the way forward. Preservation and protection of the environment is being talked about at all the available platforms. Theologies across different religions are being reinterpreted so that awareness among human beings could be raised in this direction. Eco-theology, therefore, has emerged as one of the most important disciplines in the recent five decades. In this paper, an attempt shall be made to present an eco-theological reading of the select ayat of the Holy Quran, a book that enlightens and guides the followers of the second largest and the fastest growing religion of the world, Islam.

The present paper is an attempt to understand the Mughal imperial imagination about Kashmir through some of the writings available. Theoretically, the paper is guided by Edward Saidian method of reading. Samples from Mughal historiography and poetry would be taken for analysis and interpretation.

Between 1942 and 1945, the British administration incarcerated him at the Ahmadnagar Fort Prison. It was in this prison that the Maulana wrote one of the masterpieces of Urdu literature in the form of a collection of letters which he addressed to one of his closest friends, Nawab Sadr Yar Jung, Maulana Habibur Rahman Shirwani. The letters are Maulana's reflections on a host of issues: his love for tea, his love for solitude, philosophy, religion, aesthetics, ethics, sin, and the concept of God. As a piece of Prison Literature, Ghubar e Khatir could be studied as an extraordinary piece of communication that a confined writer makes with his friend by imagining him in a state of dialogue with him; and, these letters show the imprisoned writer and his resilience to continue to read and write despite his solitary confinement as a human will to survive through writing. Boethius was not the first person in human history to have been incarcerated for his beliefs and work, The Consolation of Philosophy, belongs to an extremely rich tradition of writing, now called Prison Literature. Boethius was a learned man who had profound knowledge of Christian traditions and was also well-versed in Classic literature; however, he found himself in the dark chambers of prison awaiting the king's order for his execution regardless of the status and position he had before. While he was in the prison, he did not lose his nerves. Lady Philosophy visited him as a source of hope as he went on meditating and reflecting on life and its different shades. Prison actually became the place where he could think about some of the most important questions that human beings have ever asked about the nature of good and evil, providence and free will and time and eternity; thus, the prison becomes a place where Boethius is physically in chains but he enjoys the liberty and freedom through his unquenchable imagination. The present paper is an attempt to read The Consolation of Philosophy as a piece of prison literature. An attempt shall be made to look into the mind of the author for understanding the depths that his work attains in an otherwise highly restraining and controlling atmosphere.

He is often credited as the poet of protest, resistance and the iconic voice. he felt the pain of his people, was several times incarcerated for his ideological beliefs and open criticism to the government, but even the prison couldn't seize his imagination, aesthetics and commitment. Faiz used his lyric as a powerful tool in the articulation of anger, inequality, and also for peace and love. The cultural expression of resistance, in fact, has been a refrain in his poetry. Reading Faiz's poetry is to address a void that has come to be linked to the understanding of cultural protest, of raising a concern, being angry or anxious, but having a better hope for tomorrow. As Faiz become aware of the colonial game and exploitation, so political and resistance tone played a major role in his lyrics. Faiz is the voice to the voiceless and marginalized sections of society. The present paper would attempt to study his poetry from violation, resistance and protestic point of view. Frankl (1905-1997), was a neurologist, psychiatrist, and Holocaust survivor who used his experiences as a prisoner in a German concentration camp in Second World War. The most enduring work of survival literature and Holocaust testimony Man's Search for Meaning (1946) a memoir depicts his three years of detention in Auschwitzand other concentration camps. The book opens new avenues for modern psychotherapy. Frankl, lost his whole family during Nazi's attempted extermination of the Jews, and suffered a lot of frustration, pain, and trauma but found meaning through all this. The memoir documents Frankl's observation of Jewish prisoners and how they transcended their sufferings and trauma in concentration camps. It also documents the observation of the traumatic events at Auschwitz and other concentration of his fellow prisoners. The text is treated as "gem of dramatic narratives." Going through the traumatic theory the paper would attempt its implication to this text. This paper will examine and show how the writer has focused on the meaning of existence and search for meaning through one's traumatic life. The proposed paper would study the writer's trauma as a result of the physical and mental torture in the Auschwitz camps and how he converts the same into a meaningful existence by way of employing different survival techniques.

Albeit the theory emerged only a few decades backs, the elements of it are traced in the works of several writers from earlier periods. And Poetry is one of the major genres, in which the perspectives of ecocriticism are found. Sheikh ul-Alam in this regard and his poems popularly known as 'Sheikh Shrukh' written in the Kashmiri language deserves due attention. Sheikh ul-Alam has written a vast body of poetry, disusing multiple issues ranging from socio, religious to nature, and environment. The paper is an attempt to outline the theory of Ecocriticism, followed by the ecological crisis and solutions offered by Sheikh-Ul-Alam in his poetry. Moreover, the paper posits that to understand Sheikh Alam's poetry from ecocriticism perspectives, it will analyze and deconstruct some of the best 'Shrukh' composed by him, providing evidence of his love and concern for nature and environment.

Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, a prominent freedom fighter and religious scholar from India, was impris... more Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, a prominent freedom fighter and religious scholar from India, was imprisoned by the British colonial administration many times before India gained independence in 1947. Between 1942 and 1945, the British administration incarcerated him at the Ahmadnagar Fort Prison. It was in this prison that the Maulana wrote one of the masterpieces of Urdu literature in the form of a collection of letters which he addressed to one of his closest friends, Nawab Sadr Yar Jung, Maulana Habibur Rahman Shirwani. The letters are Maulana's reflections on a host of issues: his love for tea, his love for solitude, philosophy, religion, aesthetics, ethics, sin, and the concept of God. As a piece of Prison Literature, Ghubar e Khatir could be studied as an extraordinary piece of communication that a confined writer makes with his friend by imagining him in a state of dialogue with him; and, these letters show the imprisoned writer and his resilience to continue to read and write despite his solitary confinement as a human will to survive through writing. In fact, these letters show the capacity of the human mind to create meanings, seek consolations, and heal physical wounds through such a profound engagement with reading and writing. In the present paper, an attempt shall be made to read Maulana's Ghubar e Khatir as a prison narrative, and an attempt shall also be made to see how the world within the writer helps him overcome the pain of solitary confinement.

Boethius was not the first person in human history to have been incarcerated for his beliefs and work, The Consolation of Philosophy, belongs to an extremely rich tradition of writing, now called Prison Literature. Boethius was a learned man who had profound knowledge of Christian traditions and was also well-versed in Classic literature; however, he found himself in the dark chambers of prison awaiting the king's order for his execution regardless of the status and position he had before. While he was in the prison, he did not lose his nerves. Lady Philosophy visited him as a source of hope as he went on meditating and reflecting on life and its different shades. Prison actually became the place where he could think about some of the most important questions that human beings have ever asked about the nature of good and evil, providence and free will and time and eternity; thus, the prison becomes a place where Boethius is physically in chains but he enjoys the liberty and freedom through his unquenchable imagination. The present paper is an attempt to read The Consolation of Philosophy as a piece of prison literature. An attempt shall be made to look into the mind of the author for understanding the depths that his work attains in an otherwise highly restraining and controlling atmosphere.

He is often credited as the poet of protest, resistance and the iconic voice. he felt the pain of his people, was several times incarcerated for his ideological beliefs and open criticism to the government, but even the prison couldn't seize his imagination, aesthetics and commitment. Faiz used his lyric as a powerful tool in the articulation of anger, inequality, and also for peace and love. The cultural expression of resistance, in fact, has been a refrain in his poetry. Reading Faiz's poetry is to address a void that has come to be linked to the understanding of cultural protest, of raising a concern, being angry or anxious, but having a better hope for tomorrow. As Faiz become aware of the colonial game and exploitation, so political and resistance tone played a major role in his lyrics. Frankl (1905-1997), was a neurologist, psychiatrist, and Holocaust survivor who used his experiences as a prisoner in a German concentration camp in Second World War. The most enduring work of survival literature and Holocaust testimony Man's Search for Meaning (1946) a memoir depicts his three years of detention in Auschwitzand other concentration camps. The book opens new avenues for modern psychotherapy. Frankl, lost his whole family during Nazi's attempted extermination of the Jews, and suffered a lot of frustration, pain, and trauma but found meaning through all this. The memoir documents Frankl's observation of Jewish prisoners and how they transcended their sufferings and trauma in concentration camps. It also documents the observation of the traumatic events at Auschwitz and other concentration of his fellow prisoners. The text is treated as "gem of dramatic narratives." Going through the traumatic theory the paper would attempt its implication to this text. This paper will examine and show how the writer has focused on the meaning of existence and search for meaning through one's traumatic life. The proposed paper would study the writer's trauma as a result of the physical and mental torture in the Auschwitz camps and how he converts the same into a meaningful existence by way of employing different survival techniques.

Sheikh ul-Alam in this regard and his poems popularly known as 'Sheikh Shrukh' written in the Kashmiri language deserves due attention. The paper is an attempt to outline the theory of Ecocriticism, followed by the ecological crisis and solutions offered by Sheikh-Ul-Alam in his poetry. The book examines the questions of Azadi or freedom in this growing world of, modernization and challenges the notion of ‘freedom’ in democracy. The word Azadi or freedom is hanging between the masses. While replying to her publisher at the eleventh hour of publishing of the book, when asked what ‘Azadi’ meant and Roy replied without a moment of hesitation ‘a novel’. Because a novel gives a writer the freedom to be as complicated as she wants—to move through worlds, languages, and time, through societies, communities, and politics.
