Organic compounds containing phenanthroimidazole, and its optical, thermal, chemical, and high fl... more Organic compounds containing phenanthroimidazole, and its optical, thermal, chemical, and high fluorescence, have drawn the interest of numerous researchers. Phenanthroimidazole derivatives are appealing for various applications due to these characteristics. This research provides a summary of the general information contained in studies on the synthesis, characterization, photophysical characteristics, and possible applications of phenanthroimidazole derivative compounds. The focus of this study revolves around the topic of utilization in technological fields such as sensors, solar cells, optical brighteners, and organic light‐emitting diodes, and covers significant studies on mentioned topics. We anticipate that this study will provide an outline for researchers aiming to further examine fluorescent organic compounds for technological innovations. Furthermore, we anticipate that this research will be crucial in developing long‐term high‐organic compounds for optoelectronic devices.

The synthesized derivatives were purified and their structures were elucidated by ATR-IR, 1H-NMR, elemental analysis and HR-MS methods. In the next stage of the study, the absorption and emission spectra of the synthesized new phenanthroimidazole-thiadiazole hybrid derivatives were determined by UV-Vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. Stokes' shifts, molar extinction coefficients (ε), singlet energy levels (Es), quantum yield (ϕf), lifetimes (τ), the radiative (kr) and the nonradiative (knr) constant for new hybrid derivatives were measured in DMSO. In addition, aggregation measurements, which is an important parameter that changes the photophysical properties were performed and for these compounds, structure: photophysical properties were discussed.

Material and methods: Spectroscopic and chromotographic analysis were applied in the determination of the chemical composition. Thyme extracts were prepared using five different solvents. In Thymus praecox, the presence of flavonoids using HPLC and the chemical content of essential oil using GC-MS were investigated. The analyses of the mineral were determined in leaf and stem of thyme by ICP-OES. Antioxidant capacity was determined using two methods such as DPPH free radical scavenging and H2O2 scavenging. Antibacterial activity on ten bacteria, Gram (+) and Gram (-) was tested using the disc diffusion method. Main results: Experimental results showed that thyme extracts have antibacterial activities against some bacteria. As a result, it was found that the most affected bacteria was S. aureus. Inhibition zone diameter was determined to be between 8-12 mm. The effect of solvent on antibacterial activity, antioxidant capacity, total phenolic and total flavonoid amounts were observed. Highlights: These results showed that T. praecox has the potential to be used as a natural antimicrobial and antioxidant agent, and can be used as a natural supportive treatment.

The structures of the obtained compounds are characterized and interpreted with UV, FT-IR and 1 H-NMR. The fluorescence properties of the compounds were also investigated, and the absorption and emission properties of schiff base and azo dyes obtained from the same derivative were examined. As a result, it was observed that schiff bases obtained from benzimidazole derivative 1,3,4thiadiazole compound had longer wavelength absorption-emission compared to azo dyes obtained from the same compound. Experimental data were supported by density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The ground state geometries, spectroscopic properties, FMO energies and related chemical reactivity parameters of the compounds were calculated using the B3LYP hybrid density functional combined with 6-311++G(2d,2p) basis set. At the same theory level, QTAIM and IRI analyzes were also performed and the data were used to determine the properties of tautomeric structures. The electronic properties of the compounds were studied and a detailed analysis was performed by comparing them with experimental data.

Thiadiazole rings containing two nitrogens and one sulphur atom are very popular compounds for such studies. In particular, the 1,3,4-thiadiazole isomers are the prominent derivatives in the thiadiazole class in terms of their pharmacological properties. 1,3,4-thiadiazole molecules and their derivatives possess a wide range of pharmacological activities like anticancer/antitumor (1,2), anticonvulsant (3,4), antidiabetic (5,6), anti-inflammatory (7,8), antidepressant (9), antihypertensive (10), antiviral (11,12), antileishmanial (13,14), antimicrobial (15,16) and many more. Among these studies, the most common pharmacological feature is antimicrobial studies. Because of the over/ misuse of antibiotics, antibiotic resistance caused by microorganisms is now recognized as a serious global threat. As a precaution against this situation, studies are being carried out for developing novel agents that

The ligands were prepared by a nucleophilic substitution (S N 2) reaction of the appropriate ethylene glycol dihalide derivatives with 1,3,4-thiadiazole-2,5-dithiol dipotassium salt under highly diluted conditions, and subsequent ring closure. Complexation constants and selectivity factors for these heterocyclic ligands in dichloromethane or chloroform were determined by ion-pair extraction from an aqueous solution containing

Antimicrobial activities of the obtained essential oils were investigated by using minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) test by against 18 different species microorganisms. It was found that the C. sativum had strong antimicrobial activities against the 14 tested microorganism and A. officinarum oils showed strong antimicrobial activity against the 7 tested microorganisms. Furthermore, the contents of the essential oils were determined with GC-MS analyses. The most abundant compounds of essential oils of A. officinarum and C. sativum were determined as 28.4% eucalyptol and 69.4% linalool. As a result, it can be easily said that the essential oils of C. sativum and A. officinarum can be used as antimicrobial protector in related fields.
