I've recently started playing again, and decided to make my own variant of the Legacy Challenge once again. I don't do my scoring the same way as the official ones do (when I keep score at all), but I threw a little something together for folks who do that.Maxis-Made Legacy/Mini-Legacy Challenge ( Read more...Collapse ) |

Remember me saying that I've got the kids all up to uni save for Keely-bear? I was gonna save this shot, but it's not one of my best and I want to share it for the sole purpose of showing off how nicely the heir turned out.**( Guess who's a physics major?Collapse )**Definitely playing this weekend so I can hopefully have the next update out sooner! |

It's been a while, but I finally got around to updating the legacy. Yay! Still need to play the Generation 0 lot (aka the pre-made Grunt lot with Buzz, new!Lyla, Tank, and Lilith) and the Generation 1 Sibling lot (aka Buck and his paramour Jill), but I'm pleased to have gotten little Keely aged up enough for her older sibs to hit university! |

Okay. So I'm fairly sure we all know that when you allow a sim to get the Chef's Special when dining out, the waiter/waitress brings out the sim's favourite food. I've learned quite a bit about my sims that way; for example, one of my sims always, always gets cake when he orders the special. At any rate, I sent Hill on a date with his girl Ivy (it'll be featured in the next legacy update, which will most likely be sometime this week since I got in a nice long session on Sunday ♥) and they both wanted to eat out. I sent them to the family restaurant and, as is my wont, had them order the special. Ivy apparently likes spaghetti, while Hill...( Hill ordered THIS.Collapse )...oh well. At least he'll always be healthy, huh? And, quickie update in regards to ACR: apparently even though the RTFM claims that you can install or not install the mod into specified 'hoods, it hits all of them. I realized this when I caught Ripp and Johnny heading to their bedroom to "relax"... at about the same time as Hill was crawling out of the pool with the action "Booty Call to Ivy" in his queue. I let it happen anyway >:3 |

No, no new update for the legacy yet. Hopefully I'll be able to get a good long play stint this weekend and have 2.3 ready to roll; my hope is that since I've got Buck and his woman (aha, demi-spoiler :3) out of university that I can get the Outgoing Trio a.k.a. Scarlett, Pepper, and Hill into LFT to start them on the road to independence (for the girls) and heirdom (for Hill). But I've installed ACR into one hood: my newest altern-Strangetown that was first mentioned in a comment thread in Madame Ugly's journal.**( Commentary of the pffhahahaha variety.Collapse )**In summary, it provides vast amusement, but I'm going to be choosy about what 'hoods I have it installed in. It won't hit main-Strangetown for a good long while, at least not until Generation 1 gracefully exits the legacy. |

Oh, P-S-V is my shortened name for my Pleasantview w/Strangetown and Veronaville as sub-hoods that I downloaded off MATY.Anyways, I've been having fun there on my days when I can't really play my legacy family (such as yesterday; spent the entire weekend cleaning and reorganizing the kitchen, including running five loads of dishes in the dishwasher. Only had spurts where I could sit down and play, and I like playing the Grunts in long stretches because I can never really stop with them!), and toying around with various alternate story lines for the Strangetown sims. For this hood I've decided that ONLY knowledge sims will go to Sim State, and thus Johnny Smith, Ophelia Nigmos, and Tank Grunt have the Was Uneducated memory. They're functioning well, though, regardless.Ripp... well, I'm a strange one and wanted to see what a knowledge-minded Ripp is like. Apparently it means he rolls wants to win scholarships, do his homework, and earn skill points. His LTW is to max all his skills. He's... doing well with it, actually! Almost got body maxed, logic is up there too, but cleaning is a chore to get him to study (no pun intended). He's also got an eye for other boys (again. HOW do all my Ripp variations scope the room and lock onto guys? Not that I'm complaining, since I can still breed him with my hacks installed, but I'd enjoy a normal birth at some point! Thankfully my almost-clone-heir Hill likes the girls!) and has picked one other guy whose aspiration I switched to knowledge since it seemed to suit him more: Dirk Dreamer.(It's hilarious, how much they autonomously flirt and kiss whenever they're within a few feet of one another. Ophelia pre-transition invited Ripp to her house to hang out, he brought Dirk, and they proceeded to have a snog-fest in her bedroom while she was TRYING to get their attention to hang out. Yeesh. A pile of hormones, those two. I'm dreading what will happen when - not if - Lilith finds out....)So, in a fit of my-Strangetown-needs-a-resident-romance-sim-damnit (just a note, the creator of the hood added Bella Goth back into the Goth family as that was the only way she could retain her memories, so she's firmly ensconced in main-Pleasantview) I decided to alter another sim's aspiration to romance. Just to see how he'd manage it. I need to share pics when I get them, but I can safely say he does just fine with it. Even has four lovers currently: both the Beakers, Pascal Curious, and Ophelia Nigmos (who was on a date with the guy and Johnny spotted them making out. Oops, forgot I had that age transition fix/hack that lets people keep relationship markers when aging; the game still has them as Going Steady. I need to either let Phelia fix that or break them up... probably fix it, since someone has a fear of commitment. Current fears of engagement are to Pas and Loki, although fears of engagement to Circe and marriage to Ophelia rolled - the fear of marriage rolled at the same time he had the WANT to get engaged to her!). And about... seven woohoos under his belt, three at home, three public, and one in the car; two of those with the same person although the game counts them separate. The only problem area he has is Tank Grunt, whom he thinks is seriously hot but who has a mutual hate-on for him. I think he wants hate!woohoo, which the game really should have in my opinion. That would put his conquests up to eight... and make me reconsider the reroll of his LTW to celebrity chef. That Woohoo 20 Sims might be obtainable!Any guesses who I romanticized? C'mon, guess! I'll get pictures tonight and post 'em here with the answer if no one gets it |

I haven't played the Grunts in a while, but plan to go a bit tonight and see if I can get up enough for a new update this weekend; meaning, I'd really like to get all the teens off to college and play the main house a bit to get Keely to at least late childhood then hop to the university lot to see what hilarity Hill has in store for me next. In the mean time, I was sorting through some of the pics from my last play session (in which Keely aged to toddler and I discovered that her favourite people are, in order, big brother Hill, Daddy Ripp, and Daddy Johnny) and discovered a real gem.( Hill Grunt's Method of Getting the GirlCollapse ) |

Sorry, no real update on anything Sims. Mostly a sharing of one of my favourite VGCats strips:Fire Bad! or, Do Sims Feel Pain?Seriously, I still crack up when I go through the archives and see that. And mentally translate the text into Simlish. |

Ho-boy, this is gonna be a long one, and not dial-up friendly with over 170 images. It's taken me ages to get back to the family (worry about how few adult life-days my gen one had remaining, although initially I had a hack to alter aging a bit so that the adult stage benefited from aspiration points, I removed it. The adult life stage was approximately 40 days rather than 30, so even though the kids age up to teens in this one the adults still have about 23 days remaining in the adult stage by the end of the update). A few warnings for this one (although since it's all cartoon-ish they might not be too important... but I need them T_T): love, heartbreak, birthdays, death, birth. Yes, death. One of my boys pulled a stupid-ass stunt on me so now there is ghost-potential. No sightings as yet (although one of the kids is really hoping for one. Oy).Also, the heir has been chosen. I was surprised how easy the decision turned out to be in the end; once Scarlett and Hill hit their teens, I knew after just a few minutes which was going to provide me, and you the readers, the most entertainment in updates to come. Without further ado, on with the show!Cut-text blatanly 'borrowed' from The Who's "Baba O'Riley"Previous Parts: Generation 0: BeginningsGeneration 1.1: Life, University, and EverythingGeneration 1.2: Past, Present, FutureGeneration 1.3: Life After La Fiesta TechGeneration 1.4: Family SecretsGeneration 2.1: And Then There Were....Stats: Generation 1 / Generation 2( Don't cry, don't raise your eye, it's only teenage wasteland.Collapse ) ( OuttakesCollapse ) |
