THIS JOURNAL IS FRIENDS ONLY.

My name is Katrina-Mae, though I'm usually called "Kawa" in the Internet realm. I'm a Filipina by blood, New Yorker by birth, and I'm currently residing in warm, sunny Central Florida for the sake of a college-level education, majoring in applied mathematics. I have some vague idea as to what to do with that major, though said idea may change at a moment's notice.

I like high-quality anime, actually-independant singer/songwriter music, Asian pop culture, intermediate level origami, Internet philanthropy, the open source movement, and international male athletes, particularly soccer/footballers (generally German) and swimmers (generally Australian and Dutch). I'm a geek by nature, and that's not going to change anytime soon. Major Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell is one of my idols, which should tell you a lot.

I'm generally an interesting, random person with traditional fangirling points, down to the iconing and (former) fanfic writing; though like anyone my age, I have my emo moments. Lately these have been about the seperation I feel being a thousand miles away from the college I've begun to call home.

I mainly use this LJ for monitoring my friends and communties. I have bouts of daily updates then don't update for a while - consider yourself warned. However, if you like what you hear, feel free to ask me to friend you - though I reserve the right to say 'no', for whatever reason. If you're interested in my graphics - mostly Ghost in the Shell Livejournal icons - check the community, linked above.
