FUFA approves Kayemba, two others as player intermediaries / agents (original) (raw)
Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has approved and certified three official players’ intermediaries (formerly football agents).
The three are Geofrey Solo Kayemba, former Uganda Cranes striker Gibby Kalule and Musa Ssebulime.
According to the FUFA Transfer Matching System (TMS) manager, Ali Mwebe who is also the federation competitions director, the three are the duly licensed players’ intermediaries, whose names have also been submitted to Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) and the continental body, Confederation of African Football Association (CAF).
Mwebe further clarifies on the procedure of formalizing the process for one to become a players’ intermediary.
First, you need to be equipped with the basic football knowledge. Pay $ 100 for registration before a licence is processed at a cost of $ 1000.
All the costs are non-refundable and payable on the official federation accounts.
He also adds the old existing player agents licenses for the formerly approved FIFA agents will still be in operation until the tenure of service expires, then they will have to be incorporated under the latest arrangement.
Kayemba when contacted was in a relaxed and hilarious mode after securing the valid licence.
I am very happy to having been among the lucky certified players’ intermediaries (agents) not only in Uganda, but also the entire world.
This gives me the green light to work freely and transparently with my clients who are the footballers, managers and clubs. I am humbled indeed
Kayemba manages a host of local and foreign based players like Orlando Pirates’ Yassar Mugerwa, Aberdeen bound midfielder Khalid Aucho, Gor Mahia’s Godfrey Walusimbi, Herman Nteza Wasswa and many others.
A football player intermediary is one responsible for providing the necessary linkage for the player (client) in as far as securing employment is concerned.
In the modern setting, he is one tasked to manage the player in all aspects of life to ensure that he is well kept in line of duty.
He or she could in this case take the role of a counselor, finance manager, parent.
There is that capacity to hire legal, accounting services for the client for effective representation.
