DoorDash says ‘issue’ affecting thousands of customers has been resolved (original) (raw)

(NEXSTAR) – DoorDash says it had resolved an “issue” with its online-ordering platform that was affecting customers on Tuesday morning.

“DoorDash is back up and running,” the company announced in a post shared to X a little after 12:30 p.m. ET. “We resolved a technical issue that temporarily impacted customers, Dashers and merchants. We are actively working to provide resolutions for any impacted Dashers and orders. We apologize for the disruption and thank everyone for their patience.”

DoorDash did not disclose the nature of the issue in its public post.

Users of the food-delivery platform began reporting problems with the service a little after 9:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday morning, according to the outage-monitoring resource DownDetector. Tens of thousands had submitted reports by 10:20 a.m., the site indicated.

Customers on social media shared a bit of insight into their troubles, with some indicating that they had had placed orders, but couldn’t find them in the app. As one user put it, the order was “just sitting in limbo.”

Another person who identified as a DoorDash delivery worker also said on X that they had dropped off an order, but were unable to mark it as delivered on their app.

DoorDash soon acknowledged the issue in a X post.

“We’re aware of an issue affecting our platform and are working urgently to resolve it,” DoorDash wrote at the time. “We thank our users for their patience and understanding, and apologize for any inconvenience.”

On social media, DoorDash also directed customers to its help account on X “for any support needs.”

“We’ve resolved the issue and are working hard to correct any impacted Dashers and orders ASAP,” the company wrote. “We are SO sorry.”
