A descriptive cross sectional study design is used, and the study population comprised unmarried pregnant teenagers in Rachuonyo district. Findings reveal that teenagers get wrong information from their peers and this contributed to increasing prevalence of teen pregnancy. Teenagers also had poor knowledge on sexuality and contraceptive use, and there was poor communication between parents and teenagers regarding sexuality. The paper therefore recommends that best approach is to initiate peer counselling programs for the teens, ensure that correct information is given regarding availability of contraceptives, and adoption of strategies to improve communication between teenagers and their parents especially beginning at an early age of 12 years.
