This study utilizes a quantitative methodological approach, whereby null and alternative hypotheses were formulated to examine the association between Arabic-speaking children’s acquisition of literacy skills and the early childhood literacy classroom environment. Data analysis was conducted using a statistical technique known as structural equation modeling. The results of this study indicate that the literacy classroom environment, teachers’ practices, and Arabic-speaking children’s acquisition of literacy skills affect each other and have an evidence-based interrelationship. Based on this relationship, the results and recommendations of this study may be considered inspirational ideas for teachers, researchers, and decision-makers working in early childhood who seek to make positive educational changes in this field.

Education has been one of the most prominent areas that has presented a strong trend for using mobile apps. For instance, a huge number of Arabic-speaking undergraduate students in Saudi Arabia have been using mobile typing apps to accomplish their academic tasks and for other educational purposes. This phenomenon has influenced the academic writing skills of undergraduate students. In this study, we identify the relationship between academic tasks, academic writing skills, and the use of mobile typing apps among Arabic-speaking undergraduate students by analyzing which skills were affected by typing via mobile apps. A total of 276 Arabic-speaking undergraduate students in Saudi Arabia participated in this study. By applying structural equation modeling to analyze the ...

This study investigates the factors impacting teachers’ intentions to use (and their usage of) the ‘I Read Arabic’ (IRA) digital platform for teaching literacy. By utilising the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2) model, seven factors were explored in terms of their predictions of behavioural intention and actual use of the IRA digital platform. A qualitative research methodology was used. In-depth and semi-structured interviews with 15 mothers of young children (2–5 years old) were conducted. A coding approach was used to analyze the qualitative data, which revealed three themes: (1) direct factors that influence the early literacy learning space at home, (2) indirect factors that influence the early literacy learning space at home, and (3) challenges in
creating early literacy learning spaces at home. Several pedagogical implications are suggested at the end of this study that could be useful to parents and caregivers who want to support and improve their children’s early literacy learning spaces.

In this study, the person-technology (P-T) fit model was used as a means of exploring the effect of excessive mobile app texting on students' levels of technostress and the influence of these factors on their academic writing skills. The sample was comprised of 235 undergraduate students who were selected by random sampling. The study proposed a model comprised of several factors that assist in answering the study questions. These factors are the following: 'excessive mobile apps texting', 'techno-overload', 'techno-invasion', 'techno-complexity', 'accuracy', 'clarity', 'cohesiveness', and 'vocabulary'. A developed questionnaire was employed as the main data collection method to obtain relevant information regarding excessive mobile app texting, mobile technostress, and students' academic writing skills. A quantitative research method via structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to analyze the data. The results showed that excessive mobile app texting and mobile technostress, including techno-overload, techno-invasion, and techno-complexity, have negative influences (through both direct and indirect effects) on students' academic writing skills, including accuracy, clarity, cohesiveness, and vocabulary. Several pedagogical and technical implications are suggested at the end of this study. As a teacher of young children in Saudi Arabia, I observed that there were times when students did not benefit from their literacy experiences, and at other times there was a good deal of activity around their experiences in the reading centers I had developed for them. As a result of this experience in my own classroom, I have continued to have great interest in the role of reading centers for young children’s learning. This study is focused on the literacy activities in the reading centers in the elementary classroom. Specifically it is focused on exploring the differences between boys and girls as they participate in reading centers in their classroom. There are differences between boys’ and girls’ reading interests that have been documented in the research. This study seeks to examine these differences in one elementary second grade classroom.
